Question about Admiral 26 cu. ft. Side-By-Side Refrigerator

1 Answer

My Admiral side by side has a leak from the bottom of my freezer.

IT seems to be coming from the front left edge corner. Dripping down the adjustment screw leg. I just cleared the drain line located behind the freezer back panel so its not that again. This is another one. can't see where it is starting just where it shows up. I have looked all underneath and can't see its origin anywhere. Is there another drainage tube in the exterior wall or door that could leak? Puzzled.

Check your door gasket for air leakage, it sounds like condensation.

SOURCE: Admiral HMG 62163 water leaking internally & freezing in lower basket

good attempt, its actually a clogged drain thats backing up and your drain water is not able to leave refrig so it falls to bottom of freezer floor and eventually out the door. romve the items from the freezer and take the lower back wall off form inside, directly under the evaporator under all that ice there is a drain hole, youll need to clear that hole of iec( pouring boiling water down until you get a free flow of water then you can reassemble uint problem solved

SOURCE: Hi I have a Maytag fridge freezer GC2227CDFB

Your problems are exactally the same as mine. I have taken the freezer back panels off and fornd the elements blocked with ice, the upper and lower channels to the fridge are blocked with ice and obviously therefore no0 cold air is going the fridge, I have de-frosted the freezer and put back together and everything works great for 2 weeks when the same thing accurs. My settings for both fridge and freezer are on the lowest possible, but the wife does fill the freezer with too much food! I guess I need an expert in!!

That's where the drip pan is for the underside models, other than that it's likely a leaky door seal on that side or the case heater went out letting it sweat.

hello again,

Sorry to hear that the drain is clear and not the problem, some of the other things that cause that water are;

Freezer door gasket...is it curled up in the corners espicially on the hinged side so air is leaking in and condensating resulting in water

The tube that send water into the icemaker is partially frozen so when water enters the icemaker it's being sprayed and dripping to the bottom(if thats the case ice would probably be built up all over the freezer)

The door for the ice dispenser isn't fully closing and will cause condesation just like the door gasket would

Good luck,

Hello,

The most likely source of that water is a frozen/blocked drain for the defrost drain at the bottom of the freezer behind the back wall of the freezer. Its a fairly common problem so i have written this tip explaining how to clean that drain for the defrost.

I have a jenn air side by side and water seems to be leaking near the front left corner area at random times and when it does leak it is a slow drip.... thoughts?

Look in the freezer floor to see if you have ice built up and over flowing into the floor. If so you have a clogged drain line which is located in the freezer behind the lower basket in the litttle gap at the bottom of the back wall. If you don't have that, the water line that runs to the water in the door is located at the front left side as well and you can get to that by pulling off the bottom piece of plastic that runs along the bottom of the whole machine.

Side by side leaks out front door on freezer side

try checking the tube that water drains out , it could be plugged with crumbs or old partials of food and causing the problem, This has happened with my fridge at one time , affecting the defrost cycle of the freezer and dripping water out of the door, The tube was located under the crisper in the back of the inside of my fridge, Hope this solves your problem
