SOURCE: Dometic refrigerator freezing in bottom

Move your thermistor closer to the center. Your thermistor is attached to the fins on the inside of the fridge. Also turn off the fridge and take the circuit board cover off and make sure that the thermistor cable is plugged in. the cable is a 2 wire terminal will be on upper right or upper left of the circuit board just below the 6 pin connector. There is another possibility but remote. The cooling unit may be getting ready to stop working. Have had many customers tell me that the fridge started freezing up and a few days later quit working completely.
Hope this helps you.

SOURCE: refrigerator gets too cold and freezes all the food

This is a common problem that often doesn't have a clear, permanent solution. The first thing to check is the overall internal refrigerator temperature (see the Appliance Accessories section for a refrigerator/freezer thermometer). The proper temperature should be between 35 and 42 degrees. Here are some things to try:

  • If your refrigerator temperature is closer to 35 degrees, try turning the temperature up slightly.

  • If you find that the temperature varies a lot from the top shelf to the bottom (where it is coldest), try putting produce and other sensitive products on a higher shelf.

  • If the temperature is too low and you can't make it warmer by adjusting the thermostat, you probably have a defective thermostat. If so, you need to replace it, because they cannot be repaired. Other possible problems are a leak in the sealed (refrigerant) system, cold air migration (in side-by-side models) or a defective air damper. These problems can be quite difficult to locate and correct, we recommend you contact a qualified appliance repair technician.

perhaps try using the adjustment the opposite way -- to be sure you are not going cooler, instead of warmer for your adjustment?

The refridgerator is not getting cold

sometimes when the air flow is restricted cold air migrates back into the bottom of the fresh food side and could freeze the dispenser resevoir which is behind the crisper drawers. Also, just defrosting the freezer is only treating the symptom. Something malfunctione to allow the frost to build up. Either the heater, defrost limiter or defrost timer.

Amana Refridgerator freezes in the refridgerated cavity.

Many Amana refrigerators have something called an auto damper. It has a thermostat coil on the side of it and as the temps get colder the damper door closes. If the thermostat on the side becomes defective then the damper door will remain open or shut. If it remains open the food in the fresh food compartment will get so cold that sections will freeze. If you could send the model number of your Amana I may find a service manual with instructions that tell you how to test by removing and dipping the thermostat into warm or cold water to see if it is working properly. I will be here in and out to my other websites but would be happy to assist you and resolve this problem. Thanks Sea Breeze

Both top sections fridge/freezer of my side by side are not cold

Sounds like a defrost problem. Remove food from freezer section, take the back wall out after removing shelves, and use a hair blower to melt off the ice and frost. Most likely you need to replace the defrost heater.

Refridgerator side of my refridgerator keeps freezing my food

The problem may be low gas or it may be the thermostat is set too low.  First, look at the possibility that you may have the food partly blocking an air channel which is where the very cold air is coming from..  Fridge side should read about 40 F after the door is closed for about an hour.  If colder, adjust.

look under your refridgerator and see if there is alot of dust on the coils. Whenever food starts freezing in my fridge I vacuum the coils and the problem goes away.
