SOURCE: astro 220 and dc 30
after some thort i re aqainted my astro 220 and dc 30 again.
this was done at factory and i still dont no why it has done it in the first place, but i got it going again.
on the 220 you can add aditional collars so i went into add a new collar and followed the proccess
and it re astablished it self with the colar.
now i took it on a hunt with my dog yesterday and seemed to be working fine it was traking my dog like it was suppose to.
my dog took of and was been track then lost signal.
after some time i found my dog and noticed the dc 30 had lost its satilite link the red led lites were only blinking not double blinking like there ment to when they have a satililite link.
thort it mite have been out of range but got back into town and it still is not picking up satilite.
so can you please tell me why this is so.
ordered this unit all the way from america to australia and not haveing much luck or very impresed.
so anything you could tell me would be great. had this unit 3 days used it once.
reguards john guppy.

SOURCE: Compass in 3 parts on the screen
This is normal! The compass looks like this in "course pointer" mode.
When you're looking at the described compass screen, press the lower left button and notice the line "bearing pointer". When you select that line and push the front joystick, you'll notice that the compass needle is "normal" again . And when you push the lower left button again, you'll see that the line has changed into "course pointer". Pushing the joystick again toggles between those two modes. The shifted needle indicates how far you drifted from the course that your route follows. See page 31 of the English manual for details.

The upload problem is generally communications settings in the software you're using to upload. You could try the freeware EasyGPS to make sure you can really communicate with the unit.
The "invisible waypoint" problem, if that's what you are describing, is generally a function of distance (ie, the unit only shows the closest points). Try sorting by name.

Tips for a great answer:

Oct 19, 2015 | Garmin Astro 320/dc50 gps dog tracking...
If your update rate was set to 0 seconds, changing it to 5, 10, or 30 seconds will now allow for your DC 30 to communicate consistently with your Astro 220.
Aside from that, most problems with transceiver range relate to background interference, antenna/transmitter damage, and battery life.
