Question about ASUS Q200e Touchscreen Notebook

1 Answer

Won't Charge So the other day my charger crapped out on me and I had to order a new one. In the meantime my battery on my Notebook completely died. It has been dead for about 2 days. Today my new charger arrived and I plugged my laptop in. The orange charging light is lit, however it has been plugged in for about an hour and whenever I try and turn on the laptop, it just dies again. Before this the computer was booted up and working fine for about 5 or so minutes and then died. Now it wont stay on past the loading screen. Am I just being impatient or is there something to really worry about??? P.S. This laptop is only about 8 months old.

If it's not a recognized charger it'll stop charging the battery and try to run on the charger alone. If the peak draw of the laptop is higher than the charger output, it'll go right back off.
Try removing the battery and see if it'll boot on the charger alone.

SOURCE: my asus notebook won't charge i

if it wont charge it most likely has a bad battery...if you just bought it, I would suggest returning it for a replacement. Make the vendor or manufacturer make good on their product.

You say it's a new battery. Is the battery the same EXACT spec? Some aftermarket batteries don't work well with your laptop. The pin-out/connections may be incompatible. That said, in your BIOS is there a "Battery Learning" section.

If the phone was totally dead before it refused to charge initially, then the refusal to charge is due to the fact that there was no residual charge left to bring it to a charge, because the battery completely died.
To fix it, kick start the charging process.
Remove the battery, and using a universal charger (desktop charger) charge the battery for say 10 minutes, before re- inserting the battery to the phone and continuing with the normal charging process.
If this does not work out, then problem is with the charging port. It has to be replaced. This can be done by nearby local phone repairers.
Hope it helps?
Success.

Walkie talkie batteries don't last

The Batteries that Motorola uses will die after a while mainly because people leave them on the charger all of the time. But there is a way to refresh them. You let the battery die completely, then you charge it up for about 12 hours. Then you let the battery die completely. Do this a couple of times and the batteries will last long.
Also, Motorola use to make a battery refresher (or did when I worked there.) It will charge and drain the battery automatically. It will even give you a fault if the battery is completely dead. For the HT1000 (for example) it would be the WPPN4065BR.
For future reference, don't constantly charge a battery. Only have it on the charger when the battery is actually dead or very low. This will increase battery life.
