There are two screws on the rear of the lid, one near each corner, undo these and lift the rear of the lid a little and pull back to release the front from its clips. ( but first, if I am correct in thinking the motor is underneath on these, tilt back the machine and lean it against a wall or cabinet, and look to see if it's underneath.

How do you change the belt?

First you will have to remove the top cover where the brush roller is. I cannot remember off the top of my head, but I believe that there are 2 possibly 3 screws on the top cover. As you look at the machine from the front, they should be just behind the brush roller on both the left and the right. The 3rd screw is an optional thing on some models. It will be at the back of the machine between the hose and the main body. To access it easier lay the machine down on the floor. Once you have the top cover off, and can see the broken/worn belt and the brush roller, there should be a black and yellow sticker with detailed instructions there on how to change the belt.

Hotpoint wma11 where is the filter?

Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0in 5.4pt 0in 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0in; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:10.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-ansi-language:#0400; mso-fareast-language:#0400; mso-bidi-language:#0400;} Power off the mains. The filter is located behind the silver plate at the back of the machine at the bottom. Four screws hold it on. Drain out all the water. The filter is inside the big black rubber hose attached between the pump and the main drum. Remove the plastic clip holding it to the pump unit and then the metal cir clip holding it to the main drum. Inside is a white molded cone and a big white ball which floats. You will find a lot of junk here, clean out thoroughly. To refit put white cone back inside just as you found it, at the bottom, fit ball back into the cone. Attach to the bottom to the drum and re-fasten the cir clip. Finally reconnect the gator to the pump unit and tighten the plastic clip. Check out the pump too before reconnecting.

And rate me nice pl for the free help!

How to change belt on Hoover DM6227T

Hi Diane
There are two options here; Go to the Hoover UK website and download the user manual ( and add in the DM6227 code and number without the T letter. The pdf downloadable (and free) user manual will upload to your computer.

Or follow this method:
There are two rear screws on the top of the hood of which you'll have to swing the handle all the way down to reveal both screws at the back of the top hood. Undo these screws and put them in a safe place. Then gently prise off the main control selector height dial and the top hood should be able to pop off easily. Then you'll main roller brush should be revealed as well as the broken belt.

Once the belt is removed, clean the brush roll of any threads or hairs that have stuck the bristles down. Then fit new belt, align the roller bar properly including the new drive belt and then refit the top hood back on, snap fitting down, two screws in and gently refit the control dial height adjuster back on making sure the front raised part of the dial knob is facing the Hoover.

Anything else don't hesitate to contact.

Washer does not agitate, everythiung else works fine.

hi havent stated whether this is a top laoder or front loading im assuming its the also assuming that when you say everything else works you mean it takes water in heats.. pumps water out ....the problem is usually caused by a broken drive belt.....or worn brushes in the main drive motor....loose wiring connection to main motor....TOC blown in main motor

soloution replace broken drive belt......check brushes in main motor and relpace if badly worn......if the latter items are ok...relace or substitute main motor

Electrolux vacuum making a clicking sound when the brush is engaged

Check that there is nothing lodged between the roller brush and the main dirt channel. You may have to take off the sole plate by either locating the cross head screws underneath or if the hood pops off the top - some Electrolux models have screws now located on the top. Once the roller brush is open to your eyes, look at the drive belt and check its condition - it may be on its way out and needs replacing OR the brush roller has clogged up OR the caps which hold the roller brush in both ends of the roller are loose and need a slight tap to lock them back in.

Dont forget to rate this solution. Ty
