Question about Microsoft Xbox 360 Console
The update for minecraft Xbox edition is not showing up when I start the game
Hello, Liamlondon! Sorry to hear you're having issues, let me see if I can help!
I'm thinking perhaps that it could be a number of issues:
1. You are not connected to Xbox Live and therefore the console doesn't know that there is a pending update. Simply test your connection with XBL and then retry the download.
2. Your Xbox may have already downloaded the game's update, just check and make sure that you don't already have all the content available to you that you should have.
If neither of these work, what I suggest to you is that you delete Minecraft off of your hard drive and then re-download it from the store, it should download with the new patch installed and you should be good to go! Hope this helped! :)

It sounds like your copy of the game may be damaged and not working 100% correctly. Try uninstalling and reinstalling it and see where that gets you.
