Try running IE8 with no add-ons and see if it works that way.(To do this, click Start, point to All Programs, point to Accessories, point to System Tools, and then click Internet Explorer (No Add-ons).)
You may have a faulty installation of IE8, or you might have malware on your system that is interfering with the connection of the browser.
I can point you to a few links that will help with the former, here and here and here, and recommend you follow these malware removal protocols to deal with the latter. You may have to use another system to download the required programs and then install them onto your computer from a burned cd. Then post back with more specific info if you're still having problems...
Another helpful website to deal with IE here , here and here.

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.
If I've managed to answer your question or solve a problem, please take just a moment to rate this post....thanks!

Hi, I got the message: Sorry, your browser/program is not supported by Web Dynpro! WinXP (all updates are installed) with IE 8.0.6001.18702, How can i make it work? Best regards,

Hello mkosmicki
IE8 is the problem , as most Web Dynpro applications are set to default to IE6.
Use the Compatibility View (the little broken page icon at the right of the address bar in the top of your IE window). This should load your program fine by using IE 7 parameters.
Best regards ,

IE 8 When I try to print or print preview in ie 8 a displayed web page, I get a blank page with the URL and page number at the top and bottom. While this problem does not occur with Mozilla

Hi,

This occurs if the page takes a long time to generate what it will print and if you have bad internet connection will make it take longer. Go to print preview of any page go away for a few minutes and then check if it has generated an image.

Thanks.

When I click a movie online I get the message that IE cannot display the web page

Method 1:
Test whether you can view another Web page
Start Internet Explorer/Browsers.
In the Address bar at the top of the browser window, enter one of the following addresses:
1. http://www.microsoft.com/
2. http://www.msn.com/
3. http://support.microsoft.com/

If you can go to these sites without any "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage".
The site may be temporarily offline or experiencing other issues. If you can it another issue.

Hope it helps.

I try to access yahoo mail all I ge is Ie cannot access web page what do I do? I have Ie 8 and for two days I have been getting cannot access web page. I tried windows diagnostic. I tried to get in touch...

Hello candle32, I just tried to load yahoo mail on IE6 for the first time and I had to install flash player. You can make sure that is installed by going to the following link: If the graphic displays then it is installed correctly. If not there should be an option to install it to your computer. Once installed try loading Yahoo mail again. Another option would be to download a different browser such as Firefox or Chrome to test them for Yahoo mail functionality. Post a reply with your results if this solution doesn't work. Thanks!

With google, internet explorer cannot display web page "igoogle"

I recommend that you get a friend to go to Mozilla.org & download the latest Firefox. Its a better browser then IE.
Copy the setup file to a USB flashdrive & install it from the USB drive on your laptop.

I am unable to open www.update.microsoft.com, www.support.microsoft.com from my laptop. It happens on ie8 and mozilla firefox both.

un install IE 8 and go back to ie 7 or ie 6 and try those. It wont work with firefox or any other web browser as microsoft detects the web browser using java script or something similiar before it will do windows updates
