Installed new battery on 2006 Galant and it still wont crank the engine. Put Jumpers on and it starts. Whats the problem?

If you're jumping with the jumper neg lead on engine block (like you should) then you have a bad ground lead.
If you are jumpering to the battery terminals then the connection to the battery itself is bad. Clean the battery connector terminals.

The horn beeps over and over like an alarm

probably is the alarm being set off by a corrupted CPU program from connecting the leads incorrectly. When using jumper leads or jumper battery the positive lead is connected to the battery terminal first and the earth wire ( negative) is connected to the to the engine . NOT the battery. IT is also advisable to turn on the head lights These precautions prevent a power surge in the CPU that corrupts the program

Location to put the jumper cables

You will need to put the positive lead from the jumper battery onto the positive lead of the car battery . Then place the earth lead from the jumper battery to and part of the motor This prevents a power surge that will damage the CPU. If you find it more convenient to connect to the power lead from the battery say at the starter relay or onto the starter positive itself and the negative (earth ) to the engine that would work also

How to change the battery on a Hyundai Sonata

When you remove the battery to install a new one then you need to enter a radio code to get your radio working again. This is an anti-theft locking system.
To avoid reprogramming your car/radio etc. connect another battery with jumper lead to the battery leads on your car to maintain your car's settings when you disconnect the old battery from your car.
Install the new battery and connect the car's battery leads to the new battery. now you can remove the jumper leads and the second battery.

Jabra a210 battery MightyFrosty

Separating the upper and lower case was a pain, but I finally go them apart and removed the yellow tape. The photo shows the black lead terminal (on top) jumpered to the battery "-" (on the bottom) with my Swiss Army Knife tweezers. Jumpering those leads cause the red (charging) llight to go on. After a few minutes of jumpering the red light stayed on after removing the jumper.

One bad lead can cause a computer to continue on a cycle or to shutdown or fail to detect your hard drive
Test the leads that attach to your ((hard drive from the motherboard)) or replace all the leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions + IDE,SATA and the ones that attach from your ((motherboard to hard drive))
make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty even the electrical extensions or just replace them they are probably old and faulty a computer needs its connections to have an end so any faulty leads will end up with a computer error

hope this helps

I'm replacing the existing 3 wire cord with a 4 wire cord on a Maytag LDE312. I assume the green wire goes to the external connection on the chassis, AND ALSO the jumper (aluminum tab) must be removed from...

This is correct. When using a three wire cord, you leave the tab in place and this ties the neutral and ground together.
With a four wire cord arrangement, you remove the tie tab. The white (neutral) wire goes to the middle terminal, and the green goes to the chassis ground. The hot wires will always be the outside leads and connect to the outside terminals.

How do i change jumper leads on cd/dvd drive

There are no actual "jumper leads" on a CD/DVD drive although there is a jumper to set the drive as either Master,Slavve or Cable Select.
This is a small plastic covered metal "clip" located at the back of the drive ans covers 2 of the 6 pins.

The settings are usually stamped in the casing of the drive above each set of 2 pins as follows Ma,Sl,CS. The jumper just pulls off although you may need a small screwdriver or pair of tweezers to enable removal and just slides back on.

Reset Power On Password

okay, listen up. im assuming this is a password set on the bios, not windows etc.i dont have this pc, but it should work depending on your motherboard it may differ BUT FOLLOW VERY CAREFULLY, IF YOU ARE UNSURE, DONT HESITATE TO REPOST AND ASK, READ AND UNDERSTAND BEFORE YOU START ^^!! . now, open the case and you should look for a little battery, its a "CR2032" (my one anyway ^^), this is the clock battery. next to or close to it there are some little jumpers, mine a are green, there are 3 pins, 2 of which are covered by the jumper. okay, these are the CMOS jumpers and you need to reset them. what you do it move the jumper to the other 2 pins, for example, if it was covering xx- (x represents what the jumper is covering) then move it to -xx. then press the power button for 10 secs then release. the computer should not start. if it does then turn it off after 10 secs (pull lead for e.g) after the pc is off, make sure there is no electricity in the pc, (pull lead) and then put the jumper to the same setting it was before, in the example previous, xx-. then turn the pc on and the password should be reset. if their are any queries, post again! and ill double check, the other thing you may do is contact the supplier or compaq and ask them how to reset it. make sure you back up your hard-drive first!

i hold no responsibility for any damage caused

hope this helps
