To much air getting through
being careful not to over tighten or you will crack your inlet manifold
solution: tighten down your carburetor and tune up your carburetor
adjust the outside screw first that is your throttle screw
then once a full revs adjust the inside screw to where you want the max revs to be

How to fix a Weber DGV 2 Barrel Carb. I have a Weber Carb on my Model A Ford. It stalls out when accelerating up a hill. Can you help with where to start adjustments?

Sounds like restricted fuel correct fuel filter? Air/Fuel mixture...while idling...turn each screw clockwise until slight stall...then back out (counter clockwise) one and a half turns to smooth idle...Hope this helps.

Bike wont idle stalls when i stop. if i adjust the idle screw to idle properly then once i start riding and let off the throttle the rpms stay at about 3000 to 4000 like i have cruise control on. what can...

depending on the machine it is, this could be the AIR/FUEL screw it too lean.
Often it is the AP (accelerator pump) on the carb. This has diaphragm and a pin. If this gets dirt in it it can cause erratic very fast idle, once revved or "bliped". Simply remove carb. On the bottom is the bowl, and another cover. Remove the bowl and this other cover and delicately cleam both. If diaphragm is dirty chances are bowl full of gunk too.

I have a Toro 524 with Tecumseh engine, model 38040 8 0000640. I am rebuilding the carb and would like to know what are basic settings for idle and hi/low speed screws?

The high speed mixture screw is initially set at 1 & 1/2 turns out. Then adjust it to give good acceleration and top speed, while not closing the screw more than you need to. The low speed mixture screw is set at 3/4 of a turn out. Adjust that, to give a smooth idle. The 3rd screw, the idle speed screw, is set to give a low idle speed without stalling.

Good Morning,,,, 1. What are function of high speed and low speed needle for gas boat.? 2. Which needle shall i set to get higher RPM and how correct step to do it? thanks

Hi and welcome to FixYa. I am Kelly

The L screw is adjusted when your having problems accelerating from idle..i.e sluggisgh acceleration or stalls.

The H screw is adusted at MAX rpm only to get the fastest engine speed. You may have to make minor adjustments on the L screw after adjusting the H screw to smooth out acceleration from idle to MAX speed so that you do not have stalls or sluggish acceleration.

There is one major NO NO when making carb adjustments... NEVER screw the jets tightly closed. The jet tips will jam into the carb body and twist off. If you ever have to close the jets completely... ligtly close them.

Thanks for choosing FixYa,

Craftsman 2 cycle blower stalls.

Most Probably the problem lies in the adjustment of the carburettor. There are two needles in the carb one for lowend adjustment and one for high end adjustment. Your lowend adjustment seems fine. The highend needle needs to be adjusted. Following are some very detailed procedures for adjusting these types of carbs

If your machine has a carb other than a "Walbro" dont worry the procedures are same. I am sure if your engine has not completed its life span this will solve your problem.

Diaphragms can develop tiny pin holes but i would expect this to cause it to stall rather than fail to accelerate.
The manuals and part diagrams may lead you to the fault. I would suspect the fault to lie in some kind of idle switch or other safety switch. It's one of those faults that are easier to diagnose when it's in your hands

Most likely the accelerator pump in the carb is defective, take off the air cleaner lid, look down the carb while you quickly open the throttle, you should see a healthy spray of gas shot out.
