SOURCE: Machine stopped mid cycle - door light illuminated

this appears to me that you have had one problem and created another, based on what you say i guess the original fault was the pump or a blockage in the outlet system, now you have dismantled the door catch and made that a fault, if possible replace the door catch with one that is known to work, then retest to get back to original fault its a bit like "my telly doesn't wok it must be the on off switch" there's much more than the switch to anything, hope i have helped, if so rate me please

Why did my washer stop mid cycle and now won't work at all?

Hope your warranty is still in effect. It sounds like your control board has an electronic problem that will require replacement; typically around $135 for the part and $110 for the service visit.

Washer stops between wash and rinse, and stays full of water. ld code

see this steps and fix it. God bless you

Lid Switch Assembly

If the washer stops mid cycle the lid switch assembly might be defective. This is a very common problem. The lid switch assembly can fail either mechanically or electrically. Test any electrical switches with an Ohm meter for continuity. The switches should have continuity according to their design.

Door Lock Motor and Switch Assembly

Water Inlet Valve

If the washer stops mid cycle the water inlet valve cold water side may have failed. Most washers have a cold water rinse and so if they can't fill with cold water they just sit indefinitely waiting for the cold water to enter. If there is cold water to the water inlet valve and the cold water works in other parts of the cycle - or to make warm water - the valve is not the problem.

Main Control Board

If the washer stops mid-cycle the main control board might be defective. This is not common. Check other causes first such as the lid or door switch and other components.

You need to use the service manual, work through, all the procedures, to isolate your problem, and repair. The DIY sites will also help

Also try to unplug and leave unplugged for 5 - 10 mins, and reconnect, this sometimes "Resets" it. Also it may NOT apply, but the Fix below regardless, works, many times, and is well worth a try.
Ok so your dishwasher won't do anything... it justs sits there and "Hums" you can't make it respond to any controls, and the ONLY way to Stop it. is to unplug the unit, replugging back in it simply "Hums" again and will do nothing.
Now this happens because, the STOP Button, is pressed and the "Door Opened", during the Wash Cycle. This should NOT be done. You shouldNEVER TURN IT OFF MID-CYCLE. you should instead, Simply, pull on the handle, to Open the door, the system will take care of everything, after, you close it,and pick up where it left off. The turning OFF, makes the machine "Think" that a New Cycle, is going to be done, before the old one is finished, and resets itself to do it all again. But it still has water, that's not meant to be there so it must dump it out.
Now, the FIX. Take the Dishwasher, out, and tip over on it's side, tip to about a 45' angle. Water will come out from underneath, this is from a small "Overflow" reservoir. this reservoir has an "Anti-Flood" switch. The removing of this water will "Reset" this Switch, and allow the dishwasher to work again.
So what happens, is this, when the STOP button is pressed Mid-Cycle, the machine must "Dump" whatever water is still in the machine, into the "Overflow Reservoir". This water then causes the Anti-flood switch to jam, and this stops the machine, until it is reset,by the above method.

When I push start nothing happens the lights are on. It stopped mid cycle while trying to rinse could the water be frozen

Switch off the machine completely. Remove all the clothes. May be one of the cloth has got stuck up with the spindle. Wait for sometime. Load again with clothes. Restart the machine and start again new washing cycle Unless you are in cold country and the temperature goes down to freezing temperatures there is no question of water freezing when the machine has been working for sometime unless it is static for a long period

Bad/worn/broken lid switch look at the back of the lid there is a little lid cam there that hits a switch,if this switch isn't engaging it will do just what you are describing.use a small screw driver to push the button in and see if it starts.

WASHING CYCLE STOPS AFTER A MINUTE

Can you skip through the programme to drain? Press pause button. then press start to move the lights down to the empty cycle. leave to finish.

If you have already tried this, I can explain how to put machine into engineer test mode, which will then give out a fault code to identify problem.
