SOURCE: DTY 4000 tractor dies when engaging pto, new

Hi,
This is just a suggestion. Try pulling the choke out about one third to one half and then engage the PTO. Sometimes the air idle adjust screw port gets a tiny speck of debris in it. If with the choke partially out and the PTO engages the just grab a screwdriver and turn the air idle mixture screw counter clockwise a hair.

First of all I beleive if you Make Sure you Don't Hahave the Clutches Backwards,Its Easy to do this.To line them Up your going to need a Helper,Trying this by your self will were you out.

Check to make sure The Splines are the Same as the Old Clutches.Includind the amount of Teeth in Each Clutch Have Got to be the Same.

Second make sure you have Plenty of Slack in your Clutch Adjustments.Remember you just removed a Work set of Clutches. So you'll need to Back off The Clutch Adjustments.

To give you plenty of Slack. You might also want to See if your Dealer Has a Pilot Tool or Clutch Alingment Tool to Help you .

SOURCE: pto light stays on, tractor won't start (4400)

I would check the PTO switch with a meter, some switches uses 3 or 4 wires 1 or 2 is for the light and the other goes to the clutch. Part of the switch could be bad. Check the voltage on the connector before the switch.

Isuzu 4fe flywheel and clutch pressure plate torque settings please

If this was in a basic workshop the flywheel would be as tight as you can reasonably pull with a 1/2 inch breaker bar, clutch pressure plate bolts with a 1/2 inch ratchet. Loctite the bolts. Tighten evenly across the bolts in sequence. If you really want to know hopefully someone will have a manual and sign in.

Hey Timlifixit when I bolt the pressure plate to flywheel are those fingers to the pressure plate suppose to move all the best in

Yes. As you tighten the pressure plate mounting bolts the fingers should move toward the pressure plate.

Does a 1995 toyota tercel manual transmission or clutch have a filter, transmission slips when i exelerate. manualtransmission

If this is a manual transmission and you get slippage at acceleration, then your clutch is slipping.

An adjustment might help a little bit, for a while, but I think I'd prepare myself for having the transmission pulled and the clutch replaced.

The clutch assembly is made up of 4 main elements: (1) the flywheel (bolted to the rear end of the engine crankshaft), (2) the pressure plate bolted to the flywheel (a spring loaded device that applies pressure to the clutch disc), (3) the clutch disc (sandwiched between the flywheel and pressure plate) that connects, via friction, the engine to the transmission, (4) the throw out bearing, which pushes against the fingers of the pressure plate to release the clutch disc engagement.

I'd seriously consider having some one do this for you....having to remove the transmission is not something for the faint of heart. Serious injury could result if the transmission were to fall on you while pulled back from the engine bell housing.

Oh, and another thing...I'd replace the pilot shaft bushing while I was in there.

If you really want to do this yourself, then go to your local auto parts store and purchase a vehicle specific repair manual. It should outline the steps specific to your car.

Remember....be very careful!

1989 vette L98 external balance eng. w/6 speed ZF trans. installed new LUK (GM) dual mass flywheel w/ OEM replacement clutch/pressure plate assy. - eng. is out of balance. what is proper allignment for...

The clutch disk and pressure plate should be balanced and can be mounted in any position that the mounting holes line up. If there is a hole for an alignment dowl, then it is recommended to do so. otherwise it doesnt matter.

The internal balancing is taken care of by the flywheel only.

I have removed the pressure plate and clutch disc. how do i remove the flex plate to get to the flex plate bolts. 2007 dodge ram 3500 6 speed manual transmission

theres an access cover under the turbo on the front of the bellhousing (2 10mm bolts) that you have to remove to access the bolts that hold the flywheel to the flexplate. kinda like removing the bolts to a torque converter. flywheel is real hevy though, watch your fingers
