Question about Nintendo DS Video Game Consoles & Games
When I turn on the DS the top screen shows Nintendo and chimes like normal then goes blank white while the bottom screen stays blank white the whole time. The interesting part is if I mash the buttons in just the right way as its starting up it will load and be able to play DS games without going through the DS menu. The games play without issue and no corrupt data. Before this happened I tried taking the battery out as a test run to get a replacement. My feeling is corrupt software as all the hardware seems to work. Advice and a possible solution would be appreciated
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

It's a poor connection to your top screen that's your problem, the issue is either that the conection is loose that holds the top screen ribbon cable to the board or that the ribbon cable to the top screen is damaged and will require replacing

For the N5 you need to fully format the 2gb card, don't be tempted to do a quick format because it won't work.
You are right to use version 1.28 but copy each file across individually in the order they are listed when you have downloaded them. Then you can create your 3 folders assuming you want them
I have spend a few months on and off arguing with these cards but doing as above should solve your problem.

SOURCE: nintendo dsi error everywhere
Contact Nintendo for this problem,
it looks like the firmware went corrupted,
maybe some one has used a bad flash
adapter to play backuped games.
Don't tell them the part of maybe some one
used a bad flash adapter, becouse they then won't help you anymore or will cost you alot
of mony to get it fixed.
Also try to reset the dsi to the standard settings, this can wipe everything on the dsi,
making backups is recomended.
A factory reset on the DSi can be performed by holding down every button minus those of the d-pad and turning the system on.
