Treadclimber error code H-23

I will try this one more time I think my machine is a TC20. I have had this one (this is my second Bowflex Treadclimber) for a little over two years. I perform regular maintenance and lubricate my treadles belts when the machine says to and sometimes between those notices. I workout every morning for 100 minutes. I start out at a speed of 3.1 and work up to 3.7. My best count is that I have over 3600 miles on this machine. Problem; A couple of days ago the machine started smellign hot, I recieved an error code of H-23. The only way to clear the error code was to unplug the unit and plug it back in. Since that time, It has shutdown 4 or 5 more times. I have lubricated it and that seems to help for a day or so. After reading the owners manual and the shop maintenance manual, it appears that I have owrn belts which is causing increased friction resulting in motor overloading, and of course heat/smell. Questions: what is error code H-23 Should I simply get new belts, or do I need to get a new machine? how many miles should the machine last?

Answer from bowflex service line. H 23 means "no tac signal". which means, a signal cable is loose or disconnected. OR the motor needs replacing...estimated cost $350 Canadian.

Why does my treadclimber TC20 display panel light up, but machine won't start

Generally that would indicate that the safety key is not in place, or a problem with the safety key magnet causing the machine to think the safety key is not in place. A call to Bowflex customer service should take care of it if that doesn't resolve it.

Error Code E1

I had the same error message E1 at 10 seconds according to the LCD display on an older Treadclimber TC1000. I called Bowflex 1-800-792-6784 and first thing they told me was to check the drive sensor on the back left corner of machine. It is two wires connected by 2 white connectors that snap together. The end of the sensor has a rubber cap that is supposed to be approximately 1/8 inch from the drive pulley. The rubber cap plugs into a small hole within the "firewall" of the drive pulley, but the end of the cap does not actually touch anything. They can email you a picture of it. If it ever gets knocked loose, the machine will register this e1 error, in some cases- hope this helps.getattachment.aspx&hm__qs=file%3d3d2f2ee0-2668-46ea-b32c-db049d56cb37.jpg%26ct%3daw1hz2uvanblzw_3d_3d%26name%3daw1hz2uwmdiuanbn%26inline%3d1%26rfc%3d0%26empty%3dfalse%26imgsrc%3dcid%253aimage002.jpg%254001c99c08.13bd6320&oneredir=1&ip=10.12.128.8&d=d6608&mf=0&a=01_0b590aaade5e800af268d347750ab151eca93264be20cd9ce2166e583b18cfe9
