To enter in to bios, try password Toshiba.

Also:
By UsingMS DOS Command: This methodworks only if you have access to the system when its turned on because thismethod requires MS DOS. Open Command Prompt from Programs menuand provide following commands one bye one: Debug o 70 2E o 71 FF quit NOTE:The first character in the above commands is English alphabet "o"and not the number 0. After providing the above commands, restart your systemand it should reset the CMOS Settings along with the BIOS password. If you arecurious to know how it works? then let me explain the above commands: In this method we are using theDebug tool of MS DOS. The "o" character present atfirst in these commands, outputs the values to IO ports. The number 70and 71 are port numbers which are used to access CMOS memory.By providing FF value we are telling CMOS that there is aninvalid checksum and it resets the CMOS settings as well as BIOS password. By UsingSoftware: There are a few software which canalso reset CMOS settings or BIOS password or both within a few clicks. But asstated above you should have access to a system which is turned on and shouldhave access to MS DOS or MS Windows: CmosPwd . How to remove bios password in laptop dell model no pp19s

BIOS passwordsare used to add some extra security to computers. You can either set a passwordto prevent access to BIOS settings or to prevent PC from booting. But sometimesthis extra security might become a pain when you forget the BIOS password orsomeone changes your system BIOS password intentionally. But there is noneed to worry. There are many known ways to reset / remove / bypass thepassword: · By removing CMOS battery · By using motherboard jumper · By using MS DOS command · By using software · By using Backdoor BIOS password Now I'll try to explain each methodone by one: By Removing CMOS Battery:
Almost allmotherboards use a small coin d CMOS battery to store all BIOS settingsalong with the password. To reset the password, unplug the PC, open the cabinetand remove the CMOS battery for approx. 15-30 minutes and thenput it back. It'll reset all BIOS settings as well as the password and you'llneed to re-enter all settings. If it fails, then try to remove the battery for at least one hour. By Using MotherboardJumper: Almost allmotherboards contain a jumper that can clear all CMOS settings along with theBIOS password. The location of this jumper varies depending upon themotherboard brand. You should read your motherboard manual to check itslocation. If you don't have the manual then look for the jumpers near the CMOSbattery. Most of the manufacturer label the jumper as CLR, CLEAR, CLEAR CMOS,etc. When you findthe jumper, look carefully. There will be 3 pins and the jumper will be joiningthe center pin to either left or right pin. What you need to do, is remove thejumper and join the center pin to the opposite pin. e.g. if the jumper joinscenter pin to left pin, then remove it and join center pin to right pin. Nowwait for a few seconds and then again remove the jumper and join the center pinto left pin. Make sure toturn the PC off before opening the cabinet and resetting the jumper. But asstated above you should have access to a system which is turned on and shouldhave access to MS DOS or MS Windows: CmosPwd By Using Backdoor BIOSPassword: Some BIOSmanufacturer put a backdoor password in BIOS which always works irrespective ofwhat password you have set in BIOS. Its a master password which is used fortesting and troubleshooting purposes. AMI BIOS Passwords: A.M.I.

Dell Laptop BIOS password recover

Hello

Thank you for using
FixYa for your problem

A reliable method can be found here:
http://www.cgsecurity.org/
look for Password recovery.

Try the backdoor password Dell

: all bios passwords can be removed easily,

: 1-create a dos system disk,
: 2- copy "debug" (this is a dos command found in windows\command directory) onto the system disk you created,
: 3- boot the machine with this disk,
: 4- at dos prompt type: debug then enter, you will see a blinking dash
: 5- type: o 70 2e then enter, (also seen: o 70 18)
: 6- type: o 71 ff then enter,
: 7- type: q then enter,
: 8- remove the floppy and reboot! Power the system off and on by unplugging and re-plugging the system into the power outlet

Forgot password for bios setting

For this issue if you need to fix it with your self you need to follow the instruction from me. First you need to open your unit. Locate where the CMOS battery located.

The BIOS password is stored in CMOS memory that is maintained while the PC is powered off by a small battery, which is attached to the motherboard. If you remove this battery, all CMOS information (including the BIOS password) will be lost. You will need to re-enter the correct CMOS setup information to use the machine. The machines owner or user will most likely be alarmed when it is discovered that the BIOS password has been deleted.

On some motherboards, the battery is soldered to the motherboard, making it difficult to remove. If this is the case, you have another alternative. Somewhere on the motherboard you should find a jumper that will clear the BIOS password. If you have the motherboard documentation, you will know where that jumper is.

If not, the jumper may be labeled on the motherboard. If you are not fortunate enough for either of these to be the case, you may be able to guess which jumper is the correct jumper. This jumper is usually standing alone near the battery. If you cannot locate this jumper, you might short both of the points where the battery connects to the motherboard.

Bios password problem

Guide to remove BIOS password of Acer computer (Both Laptop & Desktop).

There are four ways to remove the BIOS password

1. Reset Password BIOS via Backdoor BIOS Password.
2. Reset Password BIOS via Software.
3. Reset Password BIOS via hardware.
4. Reset Password BIOS via default manufacturers.

You can contact acer support or search internet for Acer's default BIOS password and that would be real easy for you, But if you are comfortable enough to use Dos you can also try this method.

OK, here is my guide to Remove Acer Bios password computer via Software. This has been done on testing machine Laptop Acer Aspire 3620/ Travel Mate 2420. Anyway, I'm not sure it will work on every Acer PC/Laptop so just consider to do at your own risk, I’m not responsible for any damages caused by this guide.

As we know most of Acer computer (Laptop & Desktop) allow us to setup BIOS in Microsoft Windows (9x/XP/Vista) environment. Great, this is the powerful that help us to remove the BIOS password because all we know if we enter Setup Utility at the boot time we have only three times of filling the password and if all wrong then the system will halt. frown.gif

The program helps us to enter Acer BIOS setup in Microsoft Windows is “Acer eSettings Management” which comes with the CD when we buy Acer PC/Laptop. If you lost the CD then just come to Acer website to download the program.

Before you can install “Acer eSettings Management” you have to install program called: “Acer Empowering Technology” so you’d better to download both of them from Acer website and install & restart your computer to be ready for the job. Here is the link of Acer website, just come there and sellect right series/model of your computer to download these programs:

Code: ftp://ftp.support.acer-euro.com or

Code: ftp://ftp.work.acer-euro.com
Another one program is also very important we will need called: “CmosPwd” - CmosPwd is a cmos/bios password recovery tool. CmosPwd is under GNU Public License. You can freely distribute it. It can be compiled under Dos, Windows, Linux, FreeBSD and NetBSD.

Download it here:

Code: http://www.cgsecurity.org/cmospwd-5.0.zip Guide to install CmosPwd and remove password:

1. Download & extract to a folder. I put it in drive D like this: d:\ cmos
2. To work on cmos memory, ioperm need to be installed and running. ioperm gives direct port I/O access for specified ports to user-mode process (ring 3) using Ke386SetIoAccessMap and Ke386IoSetAccessProcess kernel functions.

Log on to Windows as Administrator priviledges and do as follow: (see picture):

a. Click Start-->Run: type CMD hit Enter on your keyboard.
b. now us the CD command of Dos to come to d:\cmos\windows. (here is: d: hit enter; cd cmos hit enter; cd windows hit enter).
c. when you are already in d:\cmos\windows in drive D then: type “ioperm.exe –i” hit enter.
d. to start ioperm service: type “net start ioperm” hit enter.
e. ok, type: “Cmospwd_win.exe /k” hit enter, we will see:

1 - Kill cmos
2 - Kill cmos (try to keep date and time)
0 - Abort
Choice :

Type 1 and hit Enter to clear cmos.

f. run the Acer eSettings Management program: start-->program-->Acer Empower Technology-->Acer eSettings Management.

37400896td6.jpg

g. now come to the: Bios Password to see: if you still see password enable, that means we fail but if we see they are Disable so we are done. Remember if we success remove password then we have to create a password for it and then remove it and click Apply to save to cmos memory. This is very important because sometimes we see it Disable but when reboot the computer they are Enable again cuz the password is still in the CMOS.

That’s all, good luck & don’t forget to set an easy password later.

How to set a BIOS password on group of DELL pcs in a network

you have to visit each machine to set the password.
Since BIOS is DOS. prior to Windows establish network connection.
F2 to enter setup. tab to security and set administrator password.
don't foreget the password or change it in mid stream. you will not be able to access it w/o password.

my 2 cents... I wouldn't do it.

Power on password

Hi jrodk777,

If I understand you correctly you get a DOS screen asking for your password. If this is correct, its asking for the BIOS password. Actually your better off with a BIOS password than you are with a windows password, its more secure. When you reboot your going to see a quick screen for entering setup, hit what ever F button they offer for this option. Choose password, erase or leave it blank(this will reset the BIOS password to a default of no password. If you want a BIOS password type it in here save changes and exit and you should be okay. I hope this helps.

Thank you for using FixYa.com
