If screen black but green light on then is inverter was bad.
if screen black n green light off or amber then check then monitor defective.
Try with different monitor and result the same problem, either the monitor or the video connection.

I have an HP LP2065 monitor that I am trying to hook up to a laptop. When the monitor is hooked up it will flash the image on the screen and then go out. When you push the input button on the front of...

The monitor is faulty, this is confirmed when you connected to several laptops.
The fault could be a faulty inverter board which supplies high voltage to the CCFL lamp for the back lighting. Have a close look at the monitor at a sharp angle, if you see a faint Windows image then it is definitely a back light fault.

I have a HP LP2065 monitor, and it is currently displaying lines (red, blue and green) vertically on the screen, how do I resolve this problem?

Hello

OK, firstly, this problem can be due to a couple of factors. I will explain it in as much detail as possible.

Internal cracked LCD:

This is the most probable cause for these lines on the screen. Unfortunately this is not something which can be fixed without replacing the whole screen.

Damaged DVI cable:

A faulty DVI connection between the computer and the LCD screen will also cause this symptoms.

Faulty Graphics Adapter:

Lastly, this can be due to a faulty graphics adapter. If you use the on-board adapter, i would suggest that you first test the graphics adapter with another screen. Also, take out the graphics adapter and place it back in, just to make sure that there is not bad connection.

With all of the above explained, i will suggest that you start by testing the system with another screen. If the problem persists, check the connection with another cable.

If all else fails, have a look at the graphics adapter you are using.

Feel free to let me know if you need any further assistance.

Kind regards
Andrea

Make sure in the control panel under power options you change the settings so the screen doesn't go into sleep mode and make sure the display doesn't turn of. Do this by changing the times to never.
