Did you use equivalent transistors? They have to have the same characteristics (trigger voltage, speed, resistance, power handling, polarity, etc.). It won't work if you just put on some new transistors without any technical knowledge. If you have some, you could use an oscilloscope and try to figure out what's wrong and could probably calibrate the device for it to trigger the power transistors correctly.

Help with hooking up a compressor for vocals.

The compressor is a really good idea and should be connected between your mixer and your amplifiers. Your "integrated" mixer/amp is a bit tricky in that you will have to "insert" the compressor in the signal path.

If you have the "console" model....

1. "Main 1 Out" left and right to the input of your compressor and the output of the compressor connected to the "PWR Amp Insert."

2. What is known as Tip, Ring, Sleeve patch cable and plug connected ONLY to the "PWR Amp Insert." This type connection breaks out into a "Input" and "Output" using a single 1/4 stereo plug.

If you have the "square box with knobs on front" model

1. "Main Output" to input of comressor and compressor outputs to "Input to Main" (aka "AUX IN").

Check your owners manual for hookup details or suggestions and remember, all outputs feed inputs and all inputs feed outputs.

No sound from either channel

Since it is a PA amp

• Check first if input signals are getting through the amp.

• Check if all the outputs are properly connected.

If you have already done, checking..

• Check for shorted power transistors, and extract in pairs.

If it powers up, without protect..

• Check again for possible additional components before replacing

the bad ones.

A good amp never produce an over of 0.7V on its output.

Hi, I don't know how to hook up the compressor and the graphic equalizer to my Mackie mixer. A diagram would be appreciated. Thank you!

There are so many possibilities for connection it is not practical to try other than a very cursory explanation.

The first thing is WHAT channels (usually only microphones) do you want to have the compression on?

Then do you want the equalizer for all the output, or jsut parts of it. for all channels you cn take the outputs iof the board to the equalizer, and the output of the EQ to your power amps.
NOTE: all these interconnect should be balanced connecs either TRS or XLR cables.

For the compressor, you will probably select the mics into one of the SUB busses and send that to the compressor, then feed the output of the compressor back into the board on an auxilary channel input into the main mix...

For the mic channels you will NOT have the L-R button selected, but instead the desired Sub Buss.

Sending diagrams are near impossible on this system...

I want to connect a compressor to the mixer but i dont know how can you help me?

Depending upon the compressor and mixer, there are a couple of options. The compressor should be between the output of the mixer and the input of the power amps. To accomplish this, you can use either an insert cable or 2 audio cables. Some mixers have an insert point for each output. These are usually marked as inserts adn use TRS cables (Tip/Ring/Sleeve). These cables are essentially the same as stereo 1/4" cables. If the compressor can take that, than all you need is a single insert cable. This insert cable will insert the compressor directly so that you still connect the mixer output to the amp as you woud without the compressor. If not, then you will need two 1/4" standard audio cables to connect the mixer output L/R to the amp input L/R.

Hope this helps,

Goodman ckl49-1 fan doesn't work after a really bad storm.

It is possible that the rain has washed out the bearings and the motor is frozen up. You may need to replace the motor. Also you don't need to put more oil in the compressor. The compressor comes with oil already sealed in it and it does not need to be changed or any more oil added to it.
