LG GS5162AVMZ - where is the water valve for the water pipe connection located?

I recently bought a LG GS5162AVMZ and I am wondering if you could tell me where can I find the valve for the water pipe connection? The manuals is saying refer to the water pipe installation manual but they didn't provide that. Thank you!

I recently bought a fisher and paykel front loader washing machine and since it was installed it has created loud banging noises in my water pipes. Do you have any idea how I could fix this?

If you're willing to do plumbing work yourself, these and more will show you what to do.

Otherwise, a plumber will be needed to bring an end to the water hammer you are experiencing by installing an air dampener as shown below - kind of like a shock absorber on your car but in this case, the backlash of pressure is softened or eliminated by it or something similar.

Basically what's happening is the water valves are shutting off the water flow so fast, the water flow ends up vibrating the pipes and they bang against what they are next to.

Odds are you were experiencing it before but it wasn't bad enough to be noticed - I installed a set at my water heater and another set right before the water connections for the washer.

Water in secondary air pump

The problem is the PAIR valve. the PAIR is vacuum controlled and sits on a tube that connects to the main exhaust pipe. The valve gets coated with deposits over time and doesn't seal off like it should. This air leak causes any water that condenses in the lines or piping to go to the lowest point in the system. In the case of the 850's the pump when activated pulls in the water like a straw.

The valve is located at the back of the engine below the upper engine torque mount (the black brace that sticks up on the side of the engine.

If you plan on replacing the valve yourself do yourself a favor and use a short ratcheting 10mm wrench, the slimmer the better. It's a pain, but it's the only way.

You will need to replace the valve and pump again unfortunately.

Where is water filter??

You have to check if it has a pipe that you connect to external water supply. The filter is connected to this pipe.

Washing machine not filling

yes your problem is up the line somewhere. you have to have water coming out of the fill line when the washing machine is unhooked.
you will have to locate the valve to turn on the water.

good luck

I replaced the ice maker water inlet valve ( 2315576) and the Quick Connect water outlet leaks. The valve was replaced 6 mo ago and has just recently developed a leak. Is it fixable? I really dont want to...

Don't replace the valve that is a bigger problem, do your really want another hole in your pipes NO perhaps when you connected the new clear tube you did not connect it securely enough buy a new kit about 10.00 and just replace the tubing. P/S drain your water supply before you do this though or it will leak everywhere remember your pipes still have pressure in them. Hope this helps

Dishwasher is running through the cycles, but no water is being pumped into the unit. water supply is fine. Is this a common pump problem?

This is either the inlet valve (solenoid valve) or the timer. Water is not pumped in, it flows in under it's own pressure when this valve opens.

On the solenoid valve there are two electrical connections, you could remove these (often spade connections) and connect a mains supply - if it opens then the valve is fine so it is the timer.

A solenoid valve is a cheap and easy to swap component and any DIY'er can do it. It is located right by the inlet pipe (it is part of the inlet pipe assembly) the screw part which the cold water pipe is attached to is the solenoid inlet valve.

How ro connect to water supply

Home Depot sells a kit for about $18-20 that has everything you need but a cold water pipe; you'll have to find that yourself. Connect the supplied tubing to the water fitting at the rear of the fridge, route the tubing (you may have to get creative here- I drilled a hole in the floor behind the fridge) to the cold water pipe. Install the valve onto the pipe with the clamp provided, connect the tubing, then tighten the valve stem ALL THE WAY til it bottoms. (It cuts its own hole this way) Open it back up, and you're good to go- you'll have to run the water or icemaker a few minutes to purge the air from the tubing, check for leaks and you're done.

My dishwasher doesn't seem to be getting water in hence dishes not being washed. motor is on. checkedunder sink . what does 'valve on' mean exactly? i don't see an on off valve. please help!

Follow the hot water fill pipe from where it connects to the dishwasher back to where it connects to the wall. (probably under the sink) Most of the time, you will find that pipe attaches to the same hot water (on/off) valve as the hot water side of the kitchen sink.

Confirm that valve is open (righty - tighty, lefty - loosy (open)) If the valve is open at the wall end then:

The next most common cause of no water entering the dishwasher is the solenoid valve on the dishwasher that is electronically opened when the dishwasher needs water to enter for wash or rinse. This valve is located just pass the connection where the fill pipe connects to the dishwasher and will have two wires connected to it.

Please post back here what you find or have more questions, OK?

Washing maching won't rinse in cold water

hi is this hot and cold water piped machine? ie two connections on rear of machine for hot and cold pipes ? if so are your pipes connected properly on machine and the water supplies? if cold supply is connected to hot supply then wash inlet allows water in washer then washes in cold? but when rinse is due? the elec valve that has hot water pipe connected?? is failing to open allowing water flow of hot on rinse so advise recheck pipes for flow of water from both? when disconnected from machine if flow ok then possible valve blocked/faulty hope you can understand above? if you can give more info on your machine it would help to offer a remedy?

Water Leaks from beneath my washing machine

Our WM2077CW just started the water leaking from underneath. We unplugged the electrical cord and disconnected the hoses (water, drain). We then removed the inspection plate from the back and checked for wet hoses. The big black hose on the bottom was a little wet. On careful examination we found a small hole that looked like a material fatigue failure at the point where the accordion part of the hose met with the solid part of the hose near the main drum connection. I suspect this is may occur in other LG washers of the same design. Unless your floor is perfectly level it's hard to tell whether coming from the left or right side really indicates where underneath the water is coming from.
