This is a thermistor. It depends where it is located how you would be changing it but the generic answer would be unplug the refrigerator. remove the old one leaving some of the leads from the old one before you cut the wires. so you have some wire to work with. Using small wire nuts or crimp connectors wire the new thermistor to the old leads from the old thermistor it is best to either fill the wire connectors or crimp connectores wirh silicone sealant or tape the connectors with electrical tape to prevent water from entering the connections. Put the thermistor into position and away you go.

The back wall of your freezer covered with snow? If it is I would suggest you replace the heater and a thermistor - Heater: WR51X10101 Thermistor: WR55X10025. If no snow then it is probably the main pcb: WR55X10656

Fridg temp control not regulating the temp in fridg

Refrigerators like the Hotpoint Model HSS25GFP have a air damper that controls fresh food sections temperature. Your refrigerator also has a diagnostics feature and can at times locate the problem causing the fresh food section to cool too much. Either your auto damper has frost blocking it open or the=> WR55X10025 Thermister is defective.
Try using a hair drier to force warm air into the damper to see if the damper will close better by melting any ice that may have the damper stuck open. Here is the=> WR09X10050 Damper Thermister Assembly Instructions on how to change this part can also be found on the same page HERE If you have any questions please ask, Thanks Sea Breeze

Coils frzg up in freezer section refrig side to warm. changed terminator and heater.i have a ge sxs gss22wgmd.

well i wonder if you have changed both the white sensor part number WR55X10025. This is the sensor that tells the mother board to go into defrost. The other terminator is only a backup safety stat. If this dont solve your defrost problem. Then change the motherboard.

Zisb480dmc monogram, replaced Fresh food damper(-17 in freezer, 48 in refer), did not solve. Replaced Main board and fresh food thermistors, worked 10 days, problem became 44 in fresh food -27 in freezer....

there's a temp sensor on the evap coil part WR55X10025,i would change that out and when you changed the board if there's a wire in the second pin of the connector with ithink 9 pins on it you have to cut the wire that's in the second pin,if there's no wire in the first pin but one in the second pin then leave it alone, look at the paper that came with the board and it will tell you what connector it is,let me know what you find, the old sensor has like a black piece on it where the wires come out of it,the new one is all white but you should change the sensor when you change out the board
