1995 peterbuilt engine fan wont turn off

Power to the solonoid stays on ,switch and solonoid are good just the power wont shut off

The SSR (relay) in the indoor PCB is defective.

2006 Peterbuilt. Why did the A/C fan stop working in cab of truck?


Check the relay and fuse for power first. If they are good see if you have power to the motor with a voltmeter and do a voltage drop test by hooking one test lead to truck battery positive and the other lead to motor feed terminal with fan switch on. Around .300 volts or less is what you need to see.

Water wont come in

Eliminate the obvious. Water turned on to machine .Door shut all the way.Next check fill solonoid usually located at bottom front behind kick plate.Be careful ,120 volts should be available at solonoid at some point during cycle use volt meter with caution. you may want to call a tech .If no voltage then it is either bad overflow switch or control or timer or door switch.If there is voltage then solonoid is shot

renew the shut off switch on the injector pump ,i think the solonoid isnt lifting the shut off valve properly or it is sucking in air somewhere

My 95 tahoe starts but dont stay on. Fuel wont stay pumping from tbi. Just swapped a motor from 80's camaro. Was running real good in box chevy perfect. Now fuel wont stay flowing out of injectors. Already...


did you install the oil pressure switch origional to the tahoe? The tahoe uses a low oil pressure shutdown, instead of an inertia switch to shut off the fuel pump in the event of an accident. If the pressure circuit does not close within 3 seconds after the engine starts the fuel pump shuts off. This is in case the truck is on its side or upside down the pump will shut off.

The fans wont stay to cool the engine


Engine is supposed to be between 180 and 200 degrees, and the fans are supposed to go off under 200.
That is very close to boiling.
So what makes you think the fans should stay on?
Have you actually used a thermometer or does the gauge go too high?
If the fans ever go on, then we know the fans and relay work.
The next suspect would be the temperature sensor in the radiator.
But try turning on the AC. That should force the fans to stay on.

So the engine wont turn over at all? Well, we know the fuse is good since the fuel solonoid is getting power. Do you have a test light? Locate the starter solonoid, check for power to the small spade on the starter solonoid when the key is turned to the start position. Be sure the brake pedal is depressed, the pto is disengaged, and that the seat switch is depressed.
If you have power to the small spade then check the large posts for power. The battery side should have power all the time and the starter side should have power when key is turned to start. If you have power from battery and power from key switch but no power to starter then the starter solonoid is suspect.
If solonoid tests good and power is getting to starter but starter doesnt engage then starter is suspect.
If no power to small spade on starter solonoid then you will have to do some back tracking. It could be the key switch, one or more of 3 safety switches or bad wire/ bad connections

I have 1996 Dodge caravan and the fan's come on and stay on


By chance are you saying the fans stay running when you turn off the engine, the problem is with the radiater fan relay, the points are probably sticking together, it's in the pdc box under the hood, power comes from fuse 4, 40 amp, through the relay, then to the fans, relay is controlled by the engine controller (pcm). just flip the cover and find the right relay, pull it out when they wont shut off, if it quits, swap it anouther relay from the pdc box, and test it again, fans come on at 212*F and shut off at 199-202*F. if the fans stay running while engine is running, you might have a coolant sensor issue, or cooling system issue. I have a 1995 ford taurus it will turn over but wont stay running i think it's the fuel pump shut off switch?


There is a shutoff switch in the trunk. You can reset it by hand. It is designed to shut off fuel in an accident, but a good jolt on the road will engage it.
