Question about Roper Washing Machines
Bought a used machine. First load worked perfectly. 2nd filled only halfway but ran perfectly otherwise. 3rd didnt fill with water at all but ran a cycle as if it had. I replaced the water inlet valve thinking it was faulty but it still runs without water. Maybe the timer's bad?
Water level is sensed by pressure against a diaphragm switch. This switch is always mounted above water level, and is connected to the bottom of the outer bowl by a plastic tube, usually 3mm ID. Either the tube has become blocked or the connection point. Also the diaphragm switch could be faulty.

switch off power remove top switch off water and remove hose. remove inside pipe from valve - usually held by just a spring clip remove electrical terminals valve is just held with a couple of screws usually - remove these and valve will come away. put back in same order

your washers drain hose is too far down the drain pipe which is causing a siphoning action pull the washers drain hose out pipe some you should be able to hear water dropping into the pipe the reason it only happens in the rinse cycle is because the water from wash is being drained and before the water vacuum is broken the rinse water comes in causing it to keep draining
