you have to buy a switch at radio shack that will let you add channels I think its a # 275-1386A .Then the fun begins . Heres where to go to get the rest of the information so if I print one thing wrong you can't yell that I told you to do it. These are the correct directions @ www.cbtricks.com look for galaxy 2547 and then look for freq conv and it all yours.
Normally, this radio will only work on CB frequencies. I suspect the radio has been modified to get channels below and above the regular 40. If so, the radio is no longer type-accepted by FCC. It is unlikely you would get into trouble using the radio.
hi iff you remove the mic does this squeel disapear ,if so i recomend that you open mic casing and check for any lose strands of wire that could be shortening out ive seen this happen so many times with microphones you can get some switch oil and apply sparingly to switch this will also help in the long run ,,,,,goodluck with it
if you have another radio put it right next to the 2547. turn on the monitor radio with no antenna on the same channel and key the 2547. if you can hear it the final transistor is bad. let me know if that worked
