Question about Frigidaire FAX054P7A Wall/Window Air Conditioner

2 Answers

My window unit fell out of the window and hung by the power cord that was still plugged into the wall. I was able to grab the cord and pull it back up. I reattached the power cord and now every time i turn on the power it trips the breaker. is this the shorted power switch where can i get one.

the ground (green) wire actually broke in two and the other two leads pulled loose from the switch where they were the wire ends pushed onto the prongs. the rest of the rubber insulation is in tact all the way to the wall. all three wires are separated by the rubber insulation on the power cord. I used a wire splice and reconnected the green wire and repaired/replaced the the other two wires onto the switch.

Its most likely is not the switch. It is most likely the cord though. Due to the excess strain on the cord it has probably cut through the rubber coating on the wire and connected to the frame and grounded the hot lead. Fix the cord and you may have it handled.

Then it is the switch. Try looking on www.Appliance411.com and that site will direct you to thousands of other sites that you can order parts from. Good luck.

I know this post is super old, but it seems to me that if the power cord were damaged as chris jones suggested then it would trip the breaker immediately upon being plugged in. More likely is that an internal component got knocked out of place and created a short that trips the breaker only when the unit is turned on, energizing the loose or bent component. This would be something like the electric leads of a fan bumping into the frame, or any other inumerable possibilities.

Hand unit will not stay on wall unit when hung on wall Model 1100

Usually you would post this in another catagory but this is fine . The slim line wall unit should have a little mechanism that you pull up on by the ear area on the wall unit that allows the hand unit to rest on if not remove the wall unit and see if the hanger is on back side of unit.

Some units the cord is actually detachable, if you don't think this one is, contact your manufacturer to see if they offer a replacement cord that you can purchase. Some do, some don't.

My power cord fell off. Took off the back of the

there is a small board with a small transformer . the plug is located next to that small transformer. if the cord originally came from the right hand side if you are looking at tv from the back. the plug is on that right board. if the tv cord came from the left side, the plug is located on the main board in the front of tv. the plug in both situations are the same, it is white in color and has 2 or three pins sticking straight up.

Panasonic pt-53wX42, power wont stay on. Turn on, no picture then it will turn off by itself after 5 seconds. The red power button will flash on and off until I unplug unit and start the whole process...

I'm no expert, but I'd start by taking a "VERY GOOD LOOK" w/magnifing glass if possible , @ UR Wall Outlet Power Cord. Change to different wall outlet. Ur Power Cord "should" just pull right out of the back of your TV. If nothing in those places, then take off back panel (or part where power cord plugs into TV & AGAIN inspect area around where power cord attached for, yeah, that's right, the dreaded black area around plug-in area. Maybe it's just a bent prong. Any other funny things going on that U didn't mention here? Good Luck Leonard aka quikstudy@cox.net
