The steam wand emits a very thin and weak stream of steam making it impossible to froth milk. Should I descale the machine? If so, can I use spirit vinegar?

Decalcification of coffee machines boilers is better to be done with special powder for decalcification in aluminum. For making the solution from the powder you must go by instructions of manufacturer of powder. Anyway you should clean the pipe too, you get glass of water and put pipe in, steam up until it boils, than you live it for 3-4 hours. Softened milk sedimentation's will come out easily if they are present.

Dishwasher is not draining properly. Left the lid off the salt portal.

If anything other than salt can enter the salt portal, the decalcification system might get broken. I once, by accident, filled the cleaning agent into the salt compartment. The whole decalcification system had to be exchanged. The technician said, that nothing else but salt should enter the salt compartment and even leaving the lid open while using the machine can compromise its functionality.

Machine is displaying "Decalcify" message; I do not know how to do this

I believe the machine is telling you that it has already ran through the decalcification proceedure, and that it is ready for use.

Got an old saeco magic comfort 7/8 years old -

You are correct to descale the machine. I am not sure how "decalcification" is different, but if the message is still coming up, you may need to have some repair work done. There are some sensors inside that can be cleaned manually if a descaling solution doesn't do the trick. You can do some work if you are mechanically inclined.

Cuisinart Coffeemaker Decalcification Process

Run 2 cups distilled white vinegar and 2 cups water through the system - brew it like it was regular coffee. Then run plain water through the coffemaker to rinse the vinegar out and make sure the decalcification was successful. Repeat as needed. Don't forget to remove the charcoal water filters first.

Steam

Do you descale (de-calcify) your machine on a regular basis? If not you need to try that. Jura has a big square tablet for that and there is also a liquid product called Durgol.
