Question about E-Machines eMachines Desktop PC
Posted by Anonymous on
Most PC's during boot up you can hold the Del key or F2 key to enter the bios. Each bios is different but most have settings that allow you to set the system to the optimum or default (factory default) setting.
However be very careful what you change in the bios.
Record the steps so if something goes wrong you can undo it should the system not run or error out.
Most motherboards have a Cmos (Reset).
This is a jumper with pins 1,2 and 3. The jumper is usually on pins 1 and 2. To reset the Cmos to factory defaults pin the jumper on pins 2 and 3 for 2-3 seconds. (Machine OFF power unplugged!! Before you do this! You have been warned) After 2-3 seconds put the jumper back on pins 1 and 2. Plug the PC power cord up and start the machine. Laptops do not have this. Also note: Cmos is NOT the Bios.
Hope this helps good luck and be careful in the bios.
