Received new toshiba sattelite L55, open it, asks for a pin code. I do not and no one does know what it is. need to do factory reset. tell me how?? thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi
Most Toshiba laptops can be factory reset by holding down the 0 key (zero) then turn the unit on and keep holding down the 0 key when you hear long bleep it should then be loading system files at that time you can release the 0 key and it will continue to load fresh copy of your windows system. If this is a new unit to you then it should not be a problem but if you have anything stored then just a warning it will delete any files in documents, pictures etc. good luck!

Where is the battery on a l55-a5284

I take it you mean the CMOS/BIOS battery. If you are trying to remove a power on password it won't work. it is only used to store date and time + info on HDD type and the boot method.

If the battery is flat unlikely on a recent laptop you will need to remove the mobo and the battery will either be a 2032 type or soldered on with 2 little tabs.

Either a power problem or OS problem. Make sure you have all peripherals disconnected before you start.
