SOURCE: Water flowing back into washer after wash

There is a back flow valve attached to the outlet port of the drain pump. It is just a small rubber flap. This sometimes comes loose or remains open due to debris and allows the water in the drain hose to flow back into the machine after the drain pump shuts off. It can be checked by removing the drain hose from the pump inside of the machine. You will lose all of the water in your machine (about 1/2 gallon)when you do this so be prepared with a bunch of towels.

SOURCE: Drainpipe leaking

Hi Mary, I'm going through similar experiences with my new Whirlpool which I learned to hate. I'm not an expert, however, I learned a thing or two about washers recently. Your problem could be related to one or two things: The drainpipe hose should not be placed more than 8" in length in the drainpipe as it creates a siphon effect. Also, the new washers are designed to spin fast, thus higher water pressure exiting into the drainpipe. If your drainpipe is clogged up for some reason and cannot handle the high water pressure, that may also create a problem. This can be solved by using some Draino in the drainpipe. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: Whirlpool Duet GWH9100LW1 Frontloader problem

Found the tip on another thread of this site. Remove the 3 star screws located below the access panel that's below the door and clean the trap/filter to the left of the pump. Don't do like me and try to empty as much water first or you'll have an inch of water in your laundry roon when you twist off the cap.

SOURCE: Water overflowing from dispenser, no error codes

check the holes of the dispenser, could be clogged with soap and liquid detergent. check the hose where the dispenser flows to the drum, it could be clogged also. open the door, trace the dispenser hose that is attached to the drum or to the big rubber gasket at the front. check and see if there is dirt accumulation or soap clogging the hole.

Cabrio WTW7600 model, error code LF comes, checked water pressure and it is ok. Help

This LF error code indicates that there is a water supply problem. Are both the hot and cold water faucets turned on? Turn on the water. Check the household faucets to see if the hot and cold water faucets are turned on. Completely open both faucets for proper fill.

NOTE: Both hot and cold water must be connected to the washer and turned on. The washer will not properly operate with only one incoming source of water.

Are the water inlet hoses kinked? Straighten the water inlet hoses.

Are the water inlet valve screens on the washer clogged? Turn off the water and remove inlet hoses from the inlet valves in the back of the washer. Inside the inlet valves are screens. Remove any accumulated film or particles from the screens. Reinstall hoses, turn on water, and check for leaks. See the Installation Instructions for details.

zjlimited_1506.jpg

Is the water pressure less than 10 psi?
If the water pressure is too low, the washer may not properly operate. To find out your exact pounds-per-square-inch (psi) value, contact your local water utility company.

Is the drain hose extending more than 8" (20.3 cm) into the drainpipe?
The drain hose may be too far inside the drainpipe (standpipe) or laundry tub. Drained water can siphon back into the washer if the drain hose extends too far. Make sure the drain hose does not extend more than 8" (20.3 cm) into the drainpipe or laundry tub. Using the U-shaped drain hose form as described in the Installation Instructions will provide the appropriate length of drain hose in the drainpipe or laundry tub.

Is the drain hose taped onto the drainpipe? Is the top of the drainpipe covered with tape?
Do not seal the drain hose into the drainpipe with tape. The drain hose should be loose, yet secure. There must be a gap between the drain hose and the drainpipe to allow air to flow. The air gap will break the suction. This will keep water from being continuously sucked out of the machine (siphoning) as it fills.

Is the drainpipe (standpipe) less than the minimum height of 39" (99 cm)?
Make sure the top of the drain is at least 39" (99 cm) high (as measured from the floor). If the drain is below 39" (99 cm), the water will start to flow out of the machine due to gravity. The flow of water can create suction, (siphon) and the water will continue to drain out of the washer.

To remove the error display, press Pause/Cancel once.

If Pause/Cancel does not work:
  1. Unplug the washer or disconnect the power for one minute.
  2. Plug in the washer or reconnect the power.
  3. Re-select the cycle and press Start.
NOTE: If the error remains on the display, and all of the other questions above have been checked, call for service.

Hope this helps (remember to rate this answer).

Machine not working (whirlpool duet fron load) error code f21

This error code indicates that drain times are longer than expected. This could be a problem with one of the washer parts including the drain pump itself, how the drain hose enters the stand pipe, or maybe something is stuck somewhere in the drain system and is preventing the water from flowing properly.

Make sure the drain hose is not kinked or clogged. Straighten the hose for adequate water flow. Remove any blockage from the drain hose, drainpipe or utility sink. Use the U-shaped drain hose form on the drain hose, and secure the drain hose.

Remove the three screws that hold the lower access panel in place. Here you will find the pump and the all important sump clean out, or as we like to call it, the coin catcher.

My water is draining out of my machine as it is filling, Why?

This is a condition known as syphoning. Your drain hose on the washer needs to go up before it connectes to the house drain. It needs to rise as high as the washing machine top then hook over the drain pipe. If the drain hose is pushed too far into the drain pipe this can also cause syphoning.

Here are some tips to help describe this better.

Is the drain hose extending more than 8" (20.3 cm) into the drainpipe?
The drain hose may be too far down inside the drainpipe (standpipe) or laundry tub. Drained water can siphon back into the washer if the drain hose extends too far. Make sure that the drain hose does not extend more than 8" (20.3 cm) into the drainpipe or laundry tub. Using the U-shape drain hose form (as described in the Installation Instructions), will provide the correct length of drain hose in the drainpipe or laundry tub.

New Whirlpool Dishwasher filler overflows.

New Whirlpool Dishwashers will NOT accept the same "volume" of water that was desired by the same products of 25 years ago. Therefore the old 3/8" ID copper supply is too large and will overflow the tub filler/aireator (out the air vent holes). I just installed a new dishwasher supply kit consisting of a new 3/8" OD stainless braded hose with an ID of about 1/4". This delivers less volume than that recommended (in the installation manual) and therfore does restrict the flow a bit. However, the flowrate is adequate and the new dishwasher now works perfectly with no water overflow on the floor . . .

The drain pan at the bottom of the freezer side is overflowing.

If your water filter is " thru the kick plate , at the bottom , replace the filter . I have found several times now , where the filter rubber seals , have leaked into the drain pan , causing it to over flow . You do not have to replace the filter housing , just the filter .

Thin layer of ice on the floor of my whirlpool top mounted freeze

common issue.....sounds like a drain clog in the freezer compartment above. remove the freezer rear panel and totally defrost the evaporator area, directly under the evap you see( under all taht ice) a small drain hole that has become frozen over, try defrosting with either a hair dryer( not a heat gun too much heat youl melt everything) or by pouring hot water donw the drain until you get a free flow of water down the tube. after its clear reassemble and you should be fine
