Question about Pets - Others

Free online vet advice

We have had three last years lambs, nine months old, die on us. Symptoms appear to be listlessness, not eating, sitting on their own, sometimes a dirty rear end, but not always. Otherwise appear normal. When dead emit white froth from mouth, one had slight hint of blood, also bloating. They had been drenched. As a suggestion, we are becoming overrun with Pukeko.

Did you have them tested for Coccidiosis? Sounds like that may be a possibility. Have your vet do a fecal flotation.

How can you tell that your dog is sick

If they are not acting as they normally do, or not eating, or eating grass are some signs that something may be wrong. It is best to check with your Vet if you have any concerns.

Sorry to hear about your precious loss. It is soo hard to tell not knowing the history of your kitty. When any cat "seems" sick you must take them to the vet because kitties hide their sickness. So when you see any changes in your kitty, not eating, change of routine, sleeping longer, sneezing, coughing ANYTHING, it's always best to take kitty in.

Now how long have you had kitty? where did the kitty come from? I had adopted a kitty from a rescue. She was perfect to me then 6 months later she didn't come to my bedroom door as she always did. I checked on her and she didn't eat and was sleeping so I took her in to one vet. They gave her medicine and she didn't improve so the following day I took her to another vet my rescue recommended who deals with cats from the streets. She was tested and hospitalized. She had FIP - Feline infectious peritonitis

I had a choice to either put her down or take her home until she gets sick again which could be just days. I was advised the best thing was to put her to sleep. It was a horrible day so I know how you much be feeling. No one will know what ever happened to your kitty until you took her to the doctors for test. I hope you will adopt a kitty in the future but in the meantime clean/wash everything kitty touched just in case. Always take kitty to the vet yearly to get checked. You could save hundreds and thousands of dollars with preventative medicine.

My current kitty goes in yearly. I took him 2 years ago and I was told he was pre-kidney so he immediately went on a wet food diet. A year later he was no longer pre-kidney disease. he is coming up on his 3rd year now and I hope he didn't progress. SO PLEASE TAKE KITTY YEARLY because it would have cost tons more and even the lost of his life.

My cat is 2 years old, she had a litter of 4 kittens they all do have new homes they are 7 weeks old. Sokkies is still very swolen and hard all around her nipples what should i do?

If they swells and becomes red and painful take her to the vet to check for Mastitis which is a bacterial infection in the milk ducts of female cats and can get very sick and die.

Also make sure cats are with mother for 10 weeks to properly learn things.

Also please spay your cat, approximately 7.6 million companion animals enter animal shelters nationwide every year and millions of cats are euthanized.

He needs to see a vet as soon as possible, if this is not possible you need to visit a good pet shop for advice or call into a vets and ask for advice, like you and me if we feel like your dog does we go to the Chemist or to the doctors.
Good Luck

Bleeding brakes

anyone have any ideas as to which is the best way to do it seeing as though it now has a new brake line on the front. Any suggestions or taking the **** much appreciated.pump and shut is the way i do it takes about 15 minutes for front and rear with fresh fluid. ie Pump the brake three times then open the bleed nipple wait until the lever softens up to the grip tighten without letting go of the lever and pump again and so on etc... As for the vacuum i use a large vets syringe and some pipe ( robbed from the wifes lamb reviving kit ) Please note : No lambs died during the making of my Bleeding kit.,,,
