I was told by a GE repair person that the level is deliberately set lower in the tub to comply with government regulations. I do not buy this but with the government liberal intervention going on in all our lives, this would not surprise me.
The solution appears to be that you will have to have someone who can open this up and move the high water fill sensor up in the tub; up to an inch or so down from the top of the tub. I would not go less than this but ideally an in and a half is good. This still winds up being well over 4 inches what it normally does. And make sure you do this while on high. On the lesser settings it seems to go by a timed value with the computer on the unit. I don't have problems with the smaller settings but washing pillows is virtually impossible with this model where my old 2.5 tub Maytag had no trouble doing pillows.
If the flow at the inlet valve is good and then the water comes into the system. Now if the WATER LEVEL SENSOR - normally a pressure switch- does not activate at the preset/chosen level to give the signal to the program controller to switch off the INLET VALVE , it will overflow. So the fault is the water level sensor and showing the error H2O.
Make sure that a fault in any of the cycle will relate to the specified action, so check the command from the program module and then the executing device be it the valve or motor or pump.
