Water is leaking from the bottom of my maytag dehumidifier. Noticed the problem over the past 2-3 weeks. I have a carpeted basement and the carpet under and around the unit is soaked. water is...

Robert, The water tubing that runs form the interior of the unit to the water bucket is clogged to solve this problem, turn the unit OFF & unplug it. Then do the following.

Remove the water collection bucket and look up inside the bucket holder cavity. You will see either a drain hole or small tubing that drains the water into the bucket. Using an appropriately sized, 18" long, plastic Zip Tie, carefully insert the tip of Zip Tie into the hole or tubing. Continue to push it in until you reach a bend in the tubing. You will need to gingerly work the Zip Tie past this bend, until it either bottoms out or you run out of usable Zip Tie. Then slowly pull the Zip Tie back out while rotating (twisting) it. This will breakup any clogs. As you reach the inserted end of the Zip Tie, be prepared, as some water may follow. Reinstall the bucket, plug the unit in and turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to ON. Set the humidity extraction level to 35% or Maximum if you have a manually controlled unit. Allow the unit to run, while you monitor it for any leakage.

NOTE: Is you don't have access to a Zip Tie, you can use something similar that flexible, like a long pipe cleaner. But, NO wire coat hangers.

I hope this helps you and thanks for choosing FixYa.

My dehunidifier is leaking water all over the floor even though the colletion bin is only about 1/3 rd full.

The drain tube, that is supposed to drain the water in to the bucket may be partially clogged.
To solve the problem, follow the instructions below.

Turn the unit OFF and unplug it.
Set the humidity extraction level to 35% or Maximum if you have a manually controlled unit. Allow the unit to run, while you monitor it for any leakage.

NOTE: If you don't have a Zip Tie, you may use something similar ( i.e.a long pipe cleaner), but NO wire coat hangers
.

I hope this helped you to troubleshoot and solve the problem.

After the unit is on for a little while it leaks water. Some is still in the tank. The tank is not full when it leaks and the tank is on tight. The unit is only about 3 years old and the air filter is...

What has happened is that the tubing that carries the water to the bucket is partially clogged. To solve this problem, do the following:

Remove the water collection bucket and look up inside the bucket holder cavity. You will see either a drain hole or small tubing that drains the water into the bucket. Using an appropriately sized, 18" long, plastic Zip Tie, carefully insert the tip of Zip Tie into the hole or tubing. Continue to push it in until you reach a bend in the tubing. NOTE: If you don't have a Zip Tie, you may use something similar ( i.e.a long pipe cleaner), but NO wire coat hangers
.

Hope this helped you.

Having a problem with my honeywell dehumitifier leaking all over my floor

Four things can cause this problem:Before attempting to correct any of them, turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to OFF & unplug the unit.

1. The water bucket is not properly installed into it's holder.
2. There is a crack or hole in the water collection bucket.
3. The float valve in the bucket is stuck in the UP position. If your bucket is so equipped.
4. The drain hole and/or tubing to the bucket is clogged.

The first 3 are easy to solve. The third requires a little more work.

NOTE: If you don't have a Zip Tie, you may use something similar ( i.e.a long pipe cleaner), but NO wire coat hangers.

Hope this helped you to further troubleshoot and solve the problem. Please let me know. Thanks.

Leaking..no holes in bucket... sit correctly

From what you have described, it sounds like the tubing that drains water into the bucket is clogged.
To solve the problem, do the following:

1. Turn the Master On/OFF Switch to OFF & Unplug the unit.

2. Remove the bucket from it's holder. At the top of the bucket cavity, you should see a hole or
tubing that drains the water into the bucket.

3. Using an 18" long plastic Zip Tie or something similar (NO wire coat hangers, though) that is the
appropriately sized to fit into the hole or tubing. Carefully insert the Zip Tie and continue to
push it in until you reach a bend in the tubing. You must gingerly work the Zip Tie past this bend,
until the Zip Tie either bottoms out or you run out of usable Zip Tie.

4. Slowly start pulling it back out while rotating it (twisting it). This will break up any clogs. Once
you start nearing the inserted end of the Zip Tie, be prepared for some water to follow.

Following the steps above, should solve the problem. Please let me know. Thanks.

I have an LG 45Ely6, the tank was reinstalled properly but it continues to leak. Can you help?

More than likely, the water drain tubing inside the unit is clogged& the water is not going into the bucket as it should. To solve this, do the following.

1. Turn the Master ON/OFF to OFF & Unplug the unit.
2. Remove the bucket and look up inside the bucket holder. You will see a tube or a hole that drains
the water into the bucket.
3. Using an 18" long plastic Zip Tie or something similar (NO wire coat hangers though) that is
appropriately sized to fit into the hole or tubing. Carefully insert the Zip Tie, until you reach a
bend in the tubing. You will need to gingerly work it past this bend, until the Zip Tie either
bottoms out or you run out of usable Zip Tie. While rotating (twisting) the Zip Tie, slowly remove it.
As you reach the inserted end of the Zip Tie, be prepared for some water to follow.

Hope this helped you troubleshoot and solve the problem. Please let me know. Thanks.

I have a Kenmore 58054701700 Dehumidifier and the unit is leaking all over the floor. We have hard water and there is an accumulation of calcium on the bottom of the bucket. Could this be the problem?

I'm not sure how hard tap water would affect a dehumidifier. Since you're not collecting the tap water.
More than likely, the problem is a result of a clogged drain hole or drain tube that fills the bucket. To unclog it get an 18" long plastic Zip Tie, that is small enough to fit into the drain hole or tube. Carefully thread it into the hole and push it in as far as you can. You will reach a bend in the tubing, so gingerly work it past the bend. Once you have inserted the Zip Tie as far as it will allow, slowly pull it out while rotating it. Be prepared for water to follow. In addition, if you haven't clean the filter recently, now would be a good time to do it. Remember to turn OFF and unplug the unit, before attempting any repairs.

Hope this helps you solve the problem. Please let me know. Thanks.
