Need to remove the on/off switch to change pressure diaphragm.

Can't seem to see what holds the black on/off housing together. Does the on/off switch come out?

We have a well and our water pressure keeps changing, from very low, to blasting... irregular, no pattern

You could have two problems. The first and most likely is that the pressure tank does not have a high enough pre-charge or the diaphragm has a leak. The pressure tank acts like a shock absorber for the well pump and pressure switch. When the water pressure drops the switch turns the well pump on. The pump runs until the pressure switch stops the pump. As the water pressure builds it pushes up on the diaphragm inside the pressure tank. If the pre-charge pressure is too low the system cycles less but the pressure fluctuates more. To fix this, the tank will have a valve on top that looks like a tire air valve. The tank pre-charge should be 30-35 psi. If your pressure switch is working properly, when the pump builds up the pressure about 15-20 psi more, the switch shuts the pump off. The pre-charge above the diaphragm pushes down and forces the water out to the tap.
If the pressure switch is set incorrectly the fluctuation may produce similar results. The pressure switch should be set to deliver adequate pressure and according to the well pumps working limits. Depending on the how far up the water has to be elevated to reach the highest shower head the more pressure is needed. The pressure switch has electrical contacts that could be burned and not releasing to stop the pump correctly. This should be checked by qualified service technician. Electricity and water don't play well together, add in a little carless good intent and you could have worse problems.
Get out the pressure gage and check the pre-charge, add air with a bike pump or a regulated compressor. If water spurts out of the air valve, the diaphragm has a leak. If the pressure is not the problem, call for service. This video has all the info you may need.

Hotpoint wt960 keeps displaying f05

Seems that the pressure switch is jammed and so it does not cut off supply or is cutting off inlet water to the washer. Remove the lines to the pressure switch and reset, check the pressure switch diaphragm

Bostitch compressor

If air continues to leak from the pressure switch after cycle is indication that the check valve is not sealing or the pressure switch diaphragm has failed. Easy fix. Follow the 1/4 inch airline to the tank and remove the line from the brass valve(check valve). If air is leaking at the brass valve, remove it and attempt to clear debris under valve or replace as needed. If no air is leaking from the checkvalve, then most likely diaphragm is leaking. You could replace the diaprhagm or the whole switch. Generic switch is available thru ebay about 18- $20

Where is the fuel pressure regulator located on a 1996 jeep grand cherokee, laredo, straight 6 cyl.?

it's under the throttle body

2fe257d.gif

Fig. Fig. 1: TBI fuel pressure regulator

  1. Remove the throttle body assembly from the vehicle as outlined in this section.

WARNING To prevent spring pressure release, hold the regulator housing against the throttle body while removing the mounting screws.
  1. Remove the three retaining screws that hold the pressure regulator to the fuel body.
  2. Disassemble the pressure regulator assembly. Note the location of the components for reassembly. Discard the gasket.
To install:
  1. Install a new gasket and the regulator assembly. Tighten the three retaining screws.
  2. Install the throttle body assembly as outlined in this section.
WARNING The pressure regulator diaphragm MUST be installed with the vent hole aligned with the vent holes in the throttle body and regulator housing!

My brake light stays on. I have replaced the back brake and the sensor.

I don't know what sensor you're talking about unless you're talking about the pressure switch underneath the bike.

Loosen the bolts that hold your front master cylinder on to the handlebars. Slide the master cylinder as close to the right handlebar throttle and switch assembly as possible. This should extinguish your brake light.

If not, your front brake light switch could be bad and need replacing. The switch is located inside the right handlebar switch housing and must be soldered in. Take the two bolts that hold the switch housing halves together out and carefully seperate the halves. The brake light switch is the small switch towards the front brake master cylinder with two wires on it. Unsolder the two wires, remove the small screw that holds the switch in, install the new switch and solder the wires onto it. Reassemble the switch housing.

Good luck
Steve

Section 03-04A: Fuel Charging and Controls—2.0L 1995 Contour/Mystique Workshop Manual DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION Fuel Pressure Regulator The fuel pressure regulator (9C968):
  • Is mounted to the fuel injection supply manifold (9F792) downstream of the fuel injectors (9F593) .
  • Regulates the fuel pressure supplied to the fuel injectors .
  • Is a diaphragm-operated relief valve in which one side of the diaphragm senses fuel pressure and the other side is subjected to intake manifold vacuum. Nominal fuel pressure is established by a spring preload applied to the diaphragm.
  • Balances one side of the diaphragm with manifold pressure to maintain a constant fuel pressure drop across the fuel injectors .
  • Bypasses and returns excess fuel to the fuel tank (9002) .

How to replace the diaphragm in the weed eater?

The diaphragm is in the carburetor of the unit.Drain the fuel, remove the filter cover and then the screws that hold the other half of the filter housing this should separate the housing from the carb. disconnect the throttle linkage and fuel lines.(make notes on how the linkage is connected) turn the carb over and there will be a plate with a hole in it.This is where the diaphragm is housed, remove the four screws and carefully remove cover.Install new diaphragm and assemble in reverse order.
