Re: Finger print malfunction on toshiba laptop

Try to unplug your adaptor (using battery state), if your fingerprint work good, it's mean that the problem is your electrity (in your house/office) have grounding problem. Try using shoes or something like that so your body don't make a direct contact /w ground. I dunno, how this problem could be like this, but my tips is work well.

Try cleaning the finger print device with rubbing alcohol. If no good then try reinstall the drivers.

I have Toshiba satellite C850-x0010, Suddenly finger print sensor is not working. suggestion pls

Should be able to have it replaced assuming it has failed; May need to order the part from Toshiba, but otherwise you can replace it yourself as the sensor should be modular in that it can be replaced; If you are not to tech savvy may want to bring this into a local PC repair shop.

Finger print

Good question. First off, I would never use a fingerprint reader for security anyways. They send your fingerprints off to the feds when you sign up (by force) to use that reader. Ask someone else if you weren't quite ummm... if you made the mistake of using that device. (Yes my laptop has one and no I never activated it as it was pointless) Maybe another tech can help you that has used that before.

I don't know how to use the finger recognition on my toshiba satellite , please help

Hello there!

Take note that for security-minded individuals, some Toshiba laptops can feature a fingerprint reader. This is incredibly more secure than facial recognition. You are the only person the world with your fingerprints. As long as you keep all your fingers on your hands, using the fingerprint reader is a secure way to logon to your laptop. A fingerprint reader is accurate and almost impossible to deceive, unlike facial recognition software. The convenience offered by the Toshiba fingerprint reader does not add any security risks. You can simply place a finger on the reader and access your user account.

There is several ways on how to set it up and it depends on the model. May I ask, what is the model of your Toshiba laptop?

Can you solve the problem for my lap top Toshiba satellite E105-S1402, I am not able to register my finger print on TrueSuite Access Manager Finger Print. The error message come "failed to open the sensor"

You can try to download and install the Fingerprint Utility here and check if you will receive the same error message.

Download and Install

If the reinstallation of this software does not help then the issue must be related to a corrupt Windows Vista files and in my opinion the usage of the Toshiba recovery CD should helps.

Thanks for using Fixya

I have a Toshiba A100, the USB ports are not working all of a sudden.

Hi there. All you should need to do, is download and install your motherboard/chipset drivers for your system.

You can download them from the Toshiba website here:

You will need your model no. As there are 7 different A100 models. It will look something like this: A100-ST1041.

If you need me to clarify anything, just reply to this post. If it works, please rate.
