The hinge rarely breaks, the fixings come loose and split the plastic case.
Disassemble the laptop to find out where your problem is,

If the plastic has broken off, I use epoxy resin to repair around the hinge or look on fleabay for a replacement hinge.

Quick fix for broken laptop hinges

Have you broken your laptop hinges? Does your screen need to be propped up?
If you answered yes to either question you should know there is a quick fix to your dilemma.
You will need velcro stripes and a brace (you can buy one for $1.50 at a hardware store).

Broke the screen on my cob kyros can i get it fixed?

A broken screen isn't something which can be repaired with a software upgrade. There are two types of broken screens. An internally broken screen is where the image on the screen looks cracked, even though there is no physical signs of abuse. It will turn on but you'll see all these funny colors come onto the screen. An externally broken screen is basically if you took that laptop and dropped it onto something hard. You wouldn't get an image, you'd just hear some noise from the power supply.
Your best bet if you have a broken screen is to take it to a service technician to see what a screen replacement will cost. If the laptop still works you can also plug an external monitor into it. This won't let you use it so easily on the go, but at least you'll be able to use it at home.
Hope that helps.

I dropped my computer now my screen is all messed up, I do not see a crack in my screen , what part would i need to fix this

if your screen is messed up, than you'll have to replace the screen. Monitors don't need to be cracked to be broken. Luckily, replacement monitors for laptops can be inexpensive online.

Broken Inspiron 1525 Lid

hello

To fix your laptop follow the steps given below.
  • First of all as your hinges are broken you have to buy a pair of hinges for your laptop model.
  • This hinge includes the whole assembly made up of metal with a part which attaches your screen to the laptop.
  • Now you have to open up your laptop from the backside and disassemble the upper side.
  • This will make you see the part which detaches tour screen from the laptop.Just remove the screws and your screen will be completely detached.
  • now you can replace the damaged hinges with the new one.
  • you have to remove four screws for one hinge. Two screws supporting the screen and two attaches the screen with the laptop.
  • so remove these screws and replace the hinges and pack the laptop again.
And the lines are basically due to the movement of loose connector. So while fixing please fix the connector also.

Thank you
