Question about Mitsubishi WS-55513 55" Rear Projection HDTV

Mitsubish WS-55807 HDTV 55" 1080

I have the 55" HDTV 55" 1080 Model WS-55807. I noticed about 2 weeks ago the picture when I first turn on the tv the picture would be warped momentarily, then normal. Now the picture is semi-permanently warped. (the colors are separated and the picture in the shape of an arc towards the middle.) I can turn off the TV for a short time and it returns to normal. How long until I totally lose the picture? What is the problem? Is one of the 3 (I think) picture guns going bad? Any suggestions would be great.

RGB picture guns ( CRT's ) are ok. Your set needs a common
convergence circuit overhaul requiring replacement of two IC's,
part # STK392-570. Usual cost about 400.00.........T.

It seems you have an issue with your DMD board, so pretty much you will need to replace it, those boards are running around 180 dlls, it's worth to try, but eventually you will need to give maintenance to the Tv

Mitsubish WS-819 Protective Shutdown. 2 blinks, pause, 2 blinks

Over 95% of the time a 2 - 2 blink code on that model is a convergence output problem. You need to replace both of the convergence output IC's and perhaps the pico fuses feeding them voltage. The pico fuses are F9A04 and F9A05. They are on the same board with the convergence outputs.

What happens

you have the V17+ chassis. The error code blinks a 2 digit code. So yours is either blinking a 12 for no error or a 21 for xray protect shutdown. Count the blinks carefull. it should blink a number pause then blink the second number. You will no doubt need the service manual. I have a good source for mitsubishi service manuals. Let me know if youd like more info and let me know what you discover with the blinking Led.

Trouble shooting 55" mitsubish hdtv 1080....

The clicking noise could be the lamp. It could be bad or just needs to be reseated to the ballast. Take the lamp out and look at the bulb. If it is not clear looking, it is bad and needs replaced. If it looks clear not smoking white, just make sure it is seated correctly to the ballast. After you have reseated the lamp (if it is good) and the ballast is still clicking when you turn on the TV, then your ballast is bad and needs replaced. You may also want to check the color wheel because it too will click if it is broken. Just take the top off the engine beside the lamp and look inside. The color wheel is made of glass and you can see if it is broken. If so it needs to be replaced.
