Question about Rowenta Professional DX8900 Iron
Rowenta Mdl DE871 professional steam iron. It heats then shuts off. It may or may not re-heat. Moving the iron or unplugging and plugging in again may or may not restart it. What is the possible problem. It now will not heat at all. Where can I download a wiring diagram? I do not see my model # in the product list below. It is DE871

The mostly problem in that case is the internal terminal from cord to iron is loose ,open it and fix the the terminal cord to iron,or go to the nearest shop to repair that.
Thanks & good day,

Most irons for which you pay more than $10 (like this nice Rowenta) will have a replaceable heating element. The problem seems to be to try to find where you can get the heating element. My best bet would be for you to contact a Rowenta service center (see listing at http://tinyurl.com/danr9x). They should be able to tell you where you can get the heating element.
Before you go that route, I am assuming you already plugged the iron directly into the outlet in the wall (not in the surge strip)? Wouldn't be the first time a single outlet of a power strip goes bad.

Have you tried descaling it? It may well be blocked up with limescale. Personally I only ever buy cheap irons and bin them when they go wrong! As you say-they are generally too expensive to repair.

Sounds like the Steam control valve is blocked or not opening. try cleaning the iron with a kit from wallmart or similar store. Failing that :It may be cheaper to buy a new one from wallmart or similar store.
