SOURCE: How to remove gear from arbor shaft on cut off saw?

The fact that there is no screw suggests its a push fit. Without knowing the machine, I am taking an educated guess, but suggest you will need a hydraulic press.

SOURCE: How do you remove the impeller and mechanical seal

The impeller is screwed on to the shaft, you need to pull the cover off the end of the motor opposite the pump so you can hold the shaft to keep it from turning. The impeller should unscrew with just hand pressure, most are a standare SAE thread and turn counterclockwise to remove. Hope this helps.

To get to the brushes all you need to do is remove the 3 screws on the back handle of the tool. No need to seperate the motor from the gear housing. Pull the back cover off and you have access to the brushes

How can I the grub screw in the top shaft of my Elna SU when it is damaged; the one you have to remove to withdraw the main shaft in order to replace the Pinion (Elnagraph).

Hi Peter, I would suggest that you join the Yahoo Group called elna Heirlooms and then search their threads there. Many of their members are familiar with the SU and do their own repairs and share their knowledge.

How to change a/c clutch bearing

This car has 2 different compressors 1 is SANDEN and other is CV171 but both require a specail puller to remove the outer clutch hub This puller screws on to the main shaft and has a threaded nut (outer side ) that screws into hub this removes hub then remove snap ring off compressor snout and install a spacer (specail tool) this covers the main shaft not to damage thrust bearing internal of compressor and a second puller can remove pulley. Most bearings are swedge fitted so the whole pulley needs to be replaced this comes in kit with a clutch coil also it is held on with a snap ring also. there are small washers (shims) that adjust the air gap on the pulley to hub set @ .025-.045

How can i remove the spinner drum from a defy twinmaid 920 (twin tub)? please help?

1)You have to tip the machine on it's back and remove all the screws from the bottom grey cover.
2)There are 4 screws securing the drain plug at the back. Remove these as well. Gently pry off the bottom of the machine.
3)The spin motor sits on four spring mounts. Undo the 4 screws from the top of the mounting plate. The motor shaft is not screwed to the drum. Slide the motor out of the drum shaft.
4) Once free, there are 2 X 10 mm bolts that lock in 2 grub screws on the shaft. Loosen these an remove the grub screws and remove this coupling off the drum shaft.
The drum is now free to come out the top of the machine.

Hope this helps

How can i remove the fan barrel from the head unit to clean it

with care. first remove the screws holding the covers, you will find them behind two or three small caps near the louvers and maybe under the filter cover. Completely remove the plastic face. Remove the screws holding the coil in place. You can only remove the left hand end as the right hand is connected to the pipework. remove the grub screw holding the fan barrel onto the motor shaft. Remove the screws holding the left hand bearing in place. At this point you should be able to withdraw the fan barrel. Take very real care how you handle the coil, for if you kink the pipes your machine will no longer perform without some major surgery. While the unit is dismantled , try cleaning inside the machine, removing dust and mould. Reassemble in reverse order

MSZ A12NA the inside fan is making noise how do i

It's a quite complicated procedure but i'll try to describe as best i can.

Below the air outlet there should be a couple of screws. They may have small tabs over them (purely for aesthetics!).

If you lift up the filter cover, remove the filters and remove filter cover (trying carefully not to break it... darn plastic!) there may be some screws above the air outlet.

Remove the fascia cover starting from the bottom. Pull it out over the louvre in the air outlet. It will be clipped at the top near the back. These can be difficult to undo. Once that's done, remove the cover.

For the next bit, make sure that the power is turned off to the unit. (power cord unplugged, isolator turned off or c/b off depending on power source)

Undo the screws on the power box.

Undo the screws on the drain tray and off the left side of the evaporator coil. (Big finned section of pipework). Make sure you support the evaporator coil as it's only connected with copper pipes which bend/kink fairly easily.

You'll need to pull the coil out a little (not too far) and take off the left hand rubber 'bearing' as such from the indoor fan barrell.

On the right hand side of the unit you'll find the fan motor (which is held in by the power box) There should be a grub screw that holds the fan barrell onto the shaft of the motor. This is usually undone with an allan key but have seen them with phillips head screws also. This grub screw might be in a few different places. It might simply be on the right end of the fan barrell or sometimes the righthand column of blades is missing a blade and the grub screw is accessed by putting allan key/screwdriver up missing portion. You only need to loosen the grub screw, not remove it.

Once loosened, the fan barrel can be pulled off the motor shaft and removed.

Once off, you can inspect it for obstructions or broken blades etc. To reassemble is just the reverse of these instructions.

Just a few things to note:

1. Be careful of the evaporator coil not to kink (or break!) the copper pipes or your a/c won't work properly.

2. The drain tray may have water in it if the a/c has been operating recently.

3. Make sure the power is off before pulling off the power box.

This can be a very difficult task and I would recommend having an assistant to help with holding stuff.

Hope this helps!
