The fourth set of tires on my Pursuit XL are wearing evenly and becoming bald in approx. 4-6 months with usage of approx. 20 miles a week with a 160 lb user. I drive on gravel roads, pavement, concrete and lawn for the most part. I still have the original rear tires and they are wearing appropriately. Any thoughts?

Maybe your front end alignment is off?
Measure the distance across the front of the front wheels and across the rear of the front wheels.
On this cart the measurements should be almost exactly the same.
Measure carefully as the measurement needs to be exact.
If the measurements are not the same,adjust one or both tierods to make the distance between the front and rear of the front wheels the same.
TIP:AVOID sharp turns on pavement which will also accelerate tire wear.
Did you ever see the statements in the tire dealer shops stating a specific tire model will last approx. 50-75,000 miles/
This will never happen unless you have your tires rotated every 7500 miles, the front tires wear excessively compared to the rear tires in 90% of the cars/trucks.
Why? Because the front tires in most cases are the drive tires(front wheel drive) causing the front tires to ocasionally spin causing excessive wear and also the front tires are the ones that guide your vehicle down the road, when you turn the steering wheel you are turning the front tires to make the car go in the direction you want thus causing more excessive wear to the front tires, in order to get even wear from front to back tires one must move the front tires to the back tires at 7500 mile intervals, making sure the tires only get rotated to the same side of the car each and every time, if you move a right rear tire to a left front position, severe damage may occur so please keep them same side rotations.
Also have your wheel alignment checked at a tire shop each time you bring it in for a wheel/tire rotation as pot holes, hitting curbs,etc all can effect the way the tires wear if the alignment goes out.
Your tires are the only thing between yourself and the road,make sure you take care of them.
Proper inflation is crucial for tire performance.Check the air pressure twice a month in your tires to avoid blowouts and increase gas mileage and decrease tire wear.You can purchase an adequate tire gauge at your local autoparts store for about $5.
Rotating your tires saves you money and helps to snag possible problems before they get to large.Rotate your tires every other oil change to maintain a more even tread wear.While you are rotating those tires make sure to do a quick visual and see if there is any abnormal wear(bald on one side, chopped wear pattern, etc.)

take the car to a suspension specialist shop and have the rear wheels aligned first
have the suspension checked for worn mounts or bad springs
it is very important that the rear end is aligned before the front end
suspect that the suspension rubbers need replacing as it is over 6 years old
the tyre rotation is a myth perpetrated on drivers to sell tyres
when the tyre construction was cross-ply and not radials yes rotation then on cross-ply tyres could get the wear to even out but with radials once the wear is started then the tyre continually wears in that pattern regardless of which wheel it is on
even if you take that tyre of the car and put it on a trailer , it will still continue to wear in that pattern
tyres are no longer rotated but simply put front to back on the same side other wise the belts flex in a new direction in the tread and fail earlier that expected
besides that fact that tyre rotation will not allow you to monitor for suspension problems or wheel alignment problems and cost you 4 tyres at a time instead of two
Cars and trucks are supposed to have their tires rotated every 5,000 miles. Doing this will only slow the wear on the outside of the tire. Whenever you turn a corner, the weight of the car and the forces of friction will cause the outside of the tries to wear off, the rubber is getting "scrubbed off". Not rotating the tires will cause the outside of the front tires to wear out before any other part of any tire. Then, there is the matter of worn "front end" parts. The parts that wear most often and quickest are the tire rod ends. Next are the ball joints, and last are the shocks/struts. When a car has about 100,000 miles, these parts begin to show their wear by causing bad tire wear. Someone needs to check your car most carefully to see if any of these parts are causing your problem. After all the worn parts are replaced, the last thing is the "front end alignment". As you drive mile after mile, you occasionally hit bumps. Although these bumps do not show up quickly, the bumps will, over time, cause the tires to become a little crooked, and about once every 3-6 years, the front end needs to be aligned, or have the tires straightened. Sounds like you should have the alignment checked on an alignment machine on all 4 wheels.Once you get those readings and an expert alignment mechanic's estimate on repair,only then will you know the correct repairs needed.
It depends on what kind of uneven wear you are talking about if the front is wearing on the inside or outside on one side or both yes you need an alignment but if front tires are are worn about the same on the inside and outside of the tire that is not uncommon it is better to rotate the tires about every 5,000-7,000 and keep the air close to maximum as they will get you better gas mileage and wear better example if the tire says a maximum of 44psi put about 38-40psi when tires are cold and havent been ran.If those are the original tires and you have 49,000 on your car then you don't need an alignment.
THese cars have a high speed rated tire and will almost always wear quickly. The right rear is the drive wheel (where the power goes when you give it gas) It will wear real quickly if you drive it hard. I would try rotating every 7500 miles (unless tire sizes are different as with the SL series) I sell a lot of tires on these cars and 25K is usually the limit.
I have an 08' R3T that I bought in March, it has 3400 miles on it and the rear tire looks like I could put that many more on it. Not sure what brand it is but I check the pressure every other ride as Ihave learned that 42 in the rear and 38 on the front will make them last longer.
