Question about Cycling
Once applied the rear brakes don't release easily. I Is there a manual that will help me fix this problem
GREASE AND BRAKES DONT MIX!!! If they are whats known as "990" mounted brakes you need to first remove the back wheel, squeeze the brakes together and remove the "straddle" cable. Then their will be 2 bolts on the top of where the brake arms are mounted. you will need a hex head wrench to hold and tighten these (usually 5mm or 7/32). Then an adjustable wrench for the tension nuts. slightly loosen the hex bolts and turn the tension nuts towards the front of the bike. (left nut : spin to the right... right nut: spin to the left) then hold and tighten the bolts back down. reassemble. if this did not work you may need to remove the brake arms and clean the mounts with a brilo pad. be sure to keep the springs on the correct side. if it is a conventional brake setup (1 bolt and spring). a good way to fix them is to remove the sping and bend the ends outwards a little bit. and remember. with any brake setup it is wise to use a Linear brake cable. I suggest Oddysey or Animal Brand cable. =) good luck
