Go to bios setup then find the boot sequenceand set the 1st priority to dvd drive then 2nd hdd save changes then restart. If the problem still persists, the disc you're inserting might not be a bootable disk. Try to secure a bootable os disk. Thanks for the inquiry and feel free to ask if there's still any problems.

I wiped clean my toshiba satellite pro p300 and tried to load operating system ,screen say's press enter to continue loading, when i press enter screen shows cannot find hard drive etc etc can anyone...

If you insert your Vista or Win7 disc into the DVD drive and boot form that, make sure that the BIOS is set to recognise the hard disc. The OS disc will do the rest. If it cannot find the hard disc, maybe the hard disc is faulty.
When you are successful, go to toshiba.com and download the latest drivers and firmware for the BIOS.
Hope that helps.

I want to remove toshiba satalite L300 factory product.how to do that .please help me

You will need to do a clean install of windows by booting from CD with your windows CD in the drive. When asked where to install you should delete the existing partition and create a new partition where you will install windows.

Cannot see HD in toshiba satalitte l40170 in booting

In some markets the L40-170 is sold without an Operating System.

I assume this is in booting off a Windows XP CD, as Vista, Win7 and Linux (Ubuntu) will recognise the HD on boot.

The L40-170 has a SATA-Hard drive with no compatible mode. WinXP will not natively recognize it.

You need to download the SATA driver from Toshiba-Europe and either:

a)Place it on a USB floppy disk and install it when the Windows installer prompts for external drivers. (This is unlikely to work unless you have a Toshiba branded device)

b) Integrate the sata drivers into a windows installation using software like nLite. (You might as well integrate all the L40-170 drivers and the XP service packs at the same time.)

Caution: Don't use software to extract the drivers off a working machine, the drivers required for windows installer are different from those required by the OS. Rather download them from Toshiba.

no its not the problem with your vista , its the problem with usb flash drive, sometimes your antivirus program prevent it from reading the flashdrive because of some virus on it.

I want to rmove Vista from Toshiba pro l40 laptop and replace with xp pro butif I try to boot from xp pro cd it eventually gives me blue error screen. How can I remove Vista?

It is not recommended because everything that is Vista Compatable, isn't XP compatable. However, if you are sure that you want to remove Vista, look up UBCD and download it to an ISO. Then enable boot from CDROM first. Within that CD will give you options of removing an operating system what-so-ever by the use of A Hard Disk "WIPING"(formatting) tool. Good Luck

Boot Failure

boot failure could be the harddisk is bad or the os in the harddisk is corrupt, try installing a new os, if failure harddisk is bad.
