To start, make sure your receiver supports "digital" in the form of coax (rca) or optical type to their respected video inputs.

SOURCE: I Need help

Here is a link to get your owners/operation manual for the model you indicated. It has two listed, the bottom one is most likely yours.

http://books.jvcservice.com/booklist.asp?Model=RX-6020V

You will get all the instructions you need to connect your unit properly.

A "FixYa!" rating would be apprecieated, since this all the information you really need.

Let me know if you need more help,

Dave

SOURCE: I have a Yamaha Rx-v363

this sounds strange, but is true. you need to run your digital audio optical cable from your tv to your receiver (after, of course, connecting tv/receiver via hdmi). so, hdmi from blue ray to rec - hdmi from rec to tv - then optical from tv back to rec. it's round about, but that is how yamaha says (and the only way it works) to do it.

SOURCE: XBOX 360 to JVC RX 5060b

I had the same problem. You should check to make sure that the switch on the XBox cable is set to HDTV and that you change the resolution on the XBox to 720P/1080i.

SOURCE: how to use sap with a rx-v463?

the trick is, it has NOTHING to do with your receiver, and EVERYTHING to do with your TV, you need to choose SAP on the TV not the stereo. That will send the SAP sound to the stereo you are playing the sound through.

How can I hook up my jvc rx-6018v to a gemini xga-2000 amplifier?

you can do it a couple of different ways, depending on what you're trying to do with your set-up.if you're trying to do something different than what I describe here, add a comment.
for independent volume control (each unit contols volume to a set of speakers independent of each other) use the rca 'tape' out of the jvc into the rca inputs on the back of the gemini.this puts a stereo signal from the jvc to the gemini. if you want your gemini to power your subs, get an rca y-splitter (single female to double male) and a single rca cable, hook single rca cable to sub out of jvc, connect y-splitter to gemini rca inputs, and single rca to y-splitter.

How do i turn off the linear pcm on a jvc rx-6018v

The nature of a source's digital bitstream is automatically detected at the receiver. Look at your unidentified source and ITS manual for that answer.

I am using an optical audio out from my tv to my JVCrx-7010v. I am using the TV in jack, cannot get any audio out let alone 5.1

Where does the digital audio REALLY originate - the TV or something higher up the food chain like a Cable Box?

Try getting it from the source to make sure it works. Then, if you REALLY think the TV needs digital 5.1 and an intervening run of cable before it passes audio to the JVC, connect it as the book says.

The TV can probably survive just fine with a simple RCA stereo audio patch from the cable box just in case you want to watch CNN without the JVC turned on.

5.1 surround sound will not work. Only showing digital auto and linear pcm.

You should try pressing the surround on/off button or the speakers on/off button

Subwoofer problem

If you get your system up and running and hear an audible buzz or hum, the first culprit to look at is either the powered subwoofer or your reciever feed at the entry point to your system.
