SOURCE: AC unit outside blowing out cold air, vents

If you have a heat pump probably there's a wrong connectionin the thermostat, but if is not a heat pump ,the compresor is not working or the unit leaked all the refrigerant.

SOURCE: My outside unit is working,

You need to check the inside fan. Check the inside unit (where you change the filter), Open the panels and turn on the A/C Look for a panel switch located on the frame where you removed the panel and if there is a switch press it in. Listen for your fan to be turning, any scraping, scratching, means worn bearings, slow turning means bad relay, or capacitor. Hope this helps Fixya up.

Hello, if the compressor is running on the outside unit and the fan is not either you have a bad capacitor or a bad fan motor, if the fan starts with a push then your capacitor is bad, if it does not the motor is shot.

My outside a/c condensing unit's fan runs, but inside vent air is not cold. compresser may not be running. inside vent air was cold last week. Janitrol ckj361ab is model # of outside unit.

Start the unit and go outside to see if the insulated pipe is sweating or cold, hot air should be discharging from top of outside unit. Since the breaker is not tripping, my best guess is the compressor is not operating. You might have to replace the capacitor.

If you can hear the compressor operating, then most
likely needs refrigerant

38CKC036 Air Conditioner: outside fan will not come on makes a humming noise...

If the humming is your compressor running (feel the large copper line going into the unit, it should feel cold aftter a few minutes of run time) then the fan motor or the capacitor or both need to be replaced, check for voltage to the fan motor when the unit is "humming" if it has voltage and will not start replace the fan motor and the capacitor. hope this helps.

My a/c not working

If the fan outside doesn't work ,the compressor will go off on overload .Try replacing the fan capacitor , if still won't turn . the fan motor has to be replaced.

Air coming out of vents is not cold. Outside unit not running. 11 year old unit

Lots of possabilities. Could be fuses or circuit breakers. Could be tripped pressure safety switch inside unit. Could be failed run capacitor. Could be problem with a control board. Recommend having a qualified professional check the system out after you check breakers and fuses.
