Question about Smeg Dishwashers
I have replaced heater element in my smeg dw614 fas ,but am still having the same problem.error code e3 "water heating malfunction" the water is heating - I suspect too much as it sounds as if it is boiling, sounds a bit like a kettle with not enough water in it.machine seems very clean in the pumps and larger hoses I removed, where should I check for possible blockage or is it likely to be a thermal cut-out,thermostat or thermistor problem, Thanks in advance

There is a diverter solenoid valve which diverts pump water to either the washer arms or the drain. It is not working. It is jammed, clogged with foreign matter or the coil is burned out/not receiving power. Follow back from your drain hose to find it. It will have two wires on it. Often, these can be disassembled and cleaned or replaced if the electrical part of it is burned.. The other option is a bad timer which is not opening the valve. That is less likely.

The most common cause of an OE error code on a modern LG dishwasher is:
1. Blocked drain hose
2. Obstruction in the sump area (beneath the filter, which needs to be removed to check for onstruction)
3. Failing drain motor.
else you need to REPLACE THE PCB POWER CONTROL BOARD

Did anyone get this sorted, mines doing the same. It stops at position 12, no power at the heater, so it stalls. I have replaced the dual thermostats, and the heater element is returning 25ohms resistance.
Its doing my head in!

Before I went with the controller, I would probably try the heating element itself, they are usually not that hard to replace and may be cheaper. I know its not that much advice, but just trying to help.
