The problem lies there itself.. you have installed it several times.. instead of installing it one more time... You should repair it.. you will get the option to repair while booting the PC.. just do this..

If you can get to Safe Mode, maybe Device Manager would show what driver is needed or not available. Try less RAM also, in case there's a bad strip.

Hi, Make sure that you set the POST first boot to CD. If the disk is a bootable disc, you should be able to boot from the CD. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me ASAP. Thanks, Mike

SOURCE: I just installed a Biostar MCP6PB M2 motherboard

My first question would be have you re-installed windows or are you using the same hard drive and windows install? If you using the same install, windows does not like having the hardware changed so dramatically and would require a fresh install. Please let me know if this is a fresh install, with the error code from the blue screen if possible.

My computer is only using 1 core out of 4 cores. The Device Manager shows all 4 cores, while going into task manager and msconfig only shows me having 1 core? I've updated to the newest bios and still...

It all depends on the OS being used - earlier versions (Win 98, Me) could only work with single core CPUs. The latest Win7 is fine with multi-cored CPU's, BUT peripherals that are older than about a year may not have drivers for it.

I bought a MSi 790gx-g65 mobo and an AMD Phenom II x4 940 which is am2+. Everything I've heard about this mobo is that it's am2+ and am3 capable, will the Phenom II am2+ I just bought work in this mobo?

Yes it will, but you'll need to update the bios to the latest one in order to be sure the processor is recognized. The 790 chipset will make that board an excellent performer with the Phenom 940. Give it as much dual channel ram as you can afford, up to the max of 4 gig for a 32 bit O/S or 64 gig for a 64 bit system.

No sound card found!

Hi,
check your bios to see if your sound card is not turned off. If it is on, and no OS can see it / also try some Linux live cd´s like kubuntu / it may be damaged. That would also explain freezing. About the freezing, make sure, the cpu cooler sits correctly, better yet, reattach it with new cooling paste.
