I do not have a cable for upload where can I take it please

You need to download map data from the device website. The cable required most likely is a standard USB - mini USB. Take your device to a computer repair shop to have it done.

Where do you find a mini USB cable to hook up to computer?

If you want a mini or micro usb cable to connect to a PC then your local poundshop will do as it is a standard cable. If for charging then it must be a 5volt 1.5amp lead otherwise you will get connect to pc constantly. It differs between 500milli amp for a pc and 1.5 amp for a charger.

Chat session ended by mistake. I need help with getting my Garmin GPSMAP 60 CX up and running. 1. I have successfully loaded Trip and Waypoint Manager on the computer 2. I have the unit hooked up to the...

You cannot load maps to the unit using the Trip and Waypoint Manager software. That software only does what it's called - it transfers routes and waypoints. To install maps onto your GPS, you will need Mapsource, which normally comes with the maps. Once it's installed on your PC, you hook up your GPS with a mini-USB cable, choose which maps you want transferred to the unit, and then the Mapsource software will knit the map segments together and transfer them over to the unit. Hope this helps.

How do I update my maps. All I have is the cable that connects from the USB on the back of the GPS to the cigarette lighter in my car

You need a mini-USB to computer USB cable..... ( most cameras use this same USB cable to connect to a computer)

with the unit off

plug in the mini-USB to gps and connect to computer USB port

the computer will detect new hardware

now go to www.MyGarmin.com

it will ask you to register, its free....

Garmin will detect your model and let you update your maps and firmware

it will also tell you to download WebUpDater utility to transfer to your gps

Does this come with a usb cable? Not sure how to hook up.

Not sure if it does, some may come with one, its the same USB cable that you hook up your camera with to a computer......

The USB to Mini-USB cable is to download maps and updates for your unit and transfer media to your Garmin

When you get your Garmin you need to register the unit with Garmin so the maps will unlock, this is how you would do it below....

With the Garmin unit off.... connect the mini-usb to gps then connect other USB end to computer

your computer will detect the connection

now go to www.MyGarmin.com the site will also detect what unit you have and let you unlock the map

here is where you register your unit and unlock maps

Upload video

The USB on your camcorder is for downloading still pictures only. If you want to transfer video to your computer you need to hook up a firewire cable, which is to the right of the USB connection. Firewire is also known as 1394 connection.

Hope it helps.

I think all the Garmins allow to do is generate a waypoint list on your PC and upload THAT to the GPS, according to what Garmin told me about my Streetpilot C340. You also need Mapsource on the PC.
