Question about IBM Lenovo ThinkPad Z60M Motherboard 42T0004 - 41W1165
Z60m restore disks do not recognise new motherboard, so can not use system update
Most restore disks are designed to work only with the ORIGINAL equipment. If you had replaced the motherboard with an identical unit the disks would have worked. But you used different board with different drivers, etc. What you can do is using another computer you can backup the files on your hard drive to a usb stick and then reload the hard drive with your OS of choice , load your programs and then transfer over your backed up files on the usb stick.
