It was working fine, but after i restarted my computer it stopped working. When my charger is not plugged in it works fine, and when I tried it in safe mode the screen did not go black at all.

SOURCE: laptop screen goes black ,but when charger is plugged in it works

This particular model of Hp was shipped with a bad inverter. You can check out the link below to another forum with users with the same problem.
http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?s=2d48836d2fa4bb298f0d0f8261490630&t=108320&page=2

In order to fix the problem you just need to discount the old inverter and it should work according to what I have read. The link to the manual is listed below.

SOURCE: Dell Laptop Charger, wont charge bat. but keeps computer running.

The center of the connetor for the AC adapter to the system has a very fine wire that is the sensing wire for the battery charger. It ID's the type adapter connected to the system. If the wire is bent or broken, the system cannot ID the adapter and the battery charger will not function.

If the wire is bent or broken, then replace the AC adapter. ALso try a different adapter and see if the issue occurs with it. If the issue happens with more than one adapter or if this adapter functions normmaly on another system, then the motherboard will need to be replaced.

SOURCE: Dell Laptop Charger, wont charge bat. but keeps computer running.

Hi there.
In some cases batteries tend to not charge up because one of the cells are damaged or drained to the point that they will not charge at all.
In other cases it can be the power board on the laptop motherboard itself which can have gone faulty, the only way to tell is to obtain another battery (preferably new) and see if it will charge the new one, if it does then you know that the battery is faulty, if it doesn't then you will have to take the laptop into a shop to be looked at.
This is the only way you are going to be able to work out which one of the two is the cause.

Good luck and thanks for using FixYa!!

SOURCE: My computer is dead, plugged into charger, but not charging

not sure if this is still good enough since the post is quite old, but if another charger also does not work, you either need to get a new battery, or get a replacement motherboard. If another battery is also not being charged on your laptop, the motherboard charging mechanism is faulty. one last try before you replace the motherboard is to check for a BIOS update which you can find by going to support.dell.com, go to the drivers page, input your service tag and look for the latest BIOS for your system. be sure to try to install the update with the charger connected and see how it goes.

Whenever I plug in my charger, I lose my USB and have to restart my RCA Galileo Pro.

Hi,

I would just keep one end of your charger plugged into your main device and the other end close to the device. Then, when you need to charge, you can simply plug the adapter end of the charger into a socket. Thank you.

What would cause my screen to go black and then can't reboot 8.1 on dell pc??

If this is a Laptop, remove battery, Plug in charger to PC and then try to reboot. A bad battery will suck all the power from charger and won't allow the computer to have enough power to boot.

Why laptop screen goes black after plugging battery charger?

Try another charger and then see or it might be a power options issue

Try this

SOLUTION: If you have a second computer, use Remote Desktop by choosing 'Run', type 'mstsc', type the name of the computer with a black screen, and connect. After logging in, open 'Control Panel', and choose 'Power Options'. On the left panel choose 'Choose when to turn off the display'. Screen only lights up on battery power but no ac adapter/charger tried three ac chargers all do the same thing so its not screen or charger

Hi David
It sounds like a fault to its power transition section circuit. Actually, this circuit is built inside the mother board to your laptop.
Please contact the authorized service center, and describe and show them the problem you do experience now, with your laptop. It can be rectified. Gopakumar Gopalan Google

Iphone will not turn on! Shows Apple logo then fades out?

Leave the phone plugged into the car charger with the "plug into itunes" screen long enough to build a charge. It sounds like the phone is dying before it gets a chance to connect to itunes and start charging through the computer. If this does not work then the store clerk was correct and your battery will need replacing

It is Windows 10.
I have reverted my machine back to Windows 8.1 and its working perfectly.
As long as you haven't had Windows 10 on your machine for 30 days you can revert back to Windows 8.1.
First of all open Settings and click Update and Recovery

Now in Update and Recovery window click on Recovery option. This will open a list of 3 options on the right hand side. You need to look for "Go back to a previous version of Windows" option. To start the process, click Get Started button under this option. It will ask you to plug in your charger before allowing you to continue.
Make sure your battery is fully charged, because before you press the get started button you need to place the cursor over the button and plug in the charger.
Once the screen goes black press the keypad which should then click the button.
Wait a few seconds and then unplug the charger.
All being well the process will now continue without the charger plugged in.
Once you get to the restart screen it should be safe to plug in the charger and you should then still have a screen you can see.
Hope this helps.
