  • If the motor is running, your washer probably has a frozen pump pulley or a broken pump belt. To check the pulley, remove the pump from the washer and try to rotate the pulley manually. If it doesn't turn freely--if it's frozen or stiff--replace it. If the pump belt is broken or looks quite worn, replace it--but be sure to check the pump pulley before you change the belt.
If the motor isn't running, the lid switch may be defective. If so, the washing machine can't spin and may not function at all. The switch is inside the washing machine main housing near the door frame. Often you have to raise or open the top or front of the washing machine to get to the switch. If it's defective, you need to replace it.

    W820 washing machine

Some markets do have an internal fuse, if it has one it will be right where the power cord runs into the machine, if not then the issue will be with the main control panel.

I have a roper washer 5 years old and it won't drain or turn on now it was working fine yesterday ive unplugged replugged pulled out all the clothes checked power supply and hoses what now?

I looked up your model number. You particular machine allows for wash with the lid open. You nothing happens. On that case I would check the motor capacitor.

    Whirlpool Duet Washer Leaking

Hi, If you are getting water in the washer without it running, the inlet mixer valve is going bad. When you run a load, does it finish spinning and all the water is out? I hope this helps you. It is not an expensing repair. I can walk you through the repair if you would like.
Please let me know if I can assist you further.
    Thanks

    KitchenAid Washer with no spin

Hi, so you have a kitchinaid washer that is not spinning and making a horrible noise.
More than likley you have a bad drive coupler. Which is located if you tip the unit back. not all the way, just enough to see the inerds of the washer. I usually prop it against the wall. There is your pump and attached to the pump is your motor. Between the motor and the transmission is your drive coupler. take the pump and motor off to gain acces to this part. there are 2 clips for the pump and 2 clips for the motor. usually 2 screws holding the clips for pump 2. Take the motor off and you will see the coupler. there is a grommet that goes between the 2 pieces sometimes that gets worn out and you will see black soot on the ground. That's a good indicationg that the coupler is the culprite

Washer stopped and will not drain properly.

The black part you mention is the drain pump motor. If the pump impeller is damaged, the motor may still run, but the pump will not drain any water. If the washer does not drain, it will not go into the final spin. The pump is sold as an entire assembly. Go to searspartsdirect.com and type in your COMPLETE model number. The pump will be listed under the "Pump and Motor Parts" heading as item number 10 (part #280187). This is not a standard part that an appliance repair center would normally carry in their inventory, so it would have to be ordered anyway. So...why not cut out the middle man? You can use other web sites for a cost comparison, but this is the cheapest place I have found it listed (use the part number listed above for your search)

If you need instructionson how to replace the pump, you can use this link:

    Clanking noise during spin cycle

I was told by 3 technicians that my washer had shot bearings and this is a common problem for the Kenmore Elite Front loader.

Sears knows it and will not do anything about it except try to sell you a new washer since it costs $800 to replace the unit with the bearings.
