Have picture on blue ray but no sound through surround sound system although sound is fine on cable tv

They will use different sound sources for the two functions. It's best to connect a blue-ray to the sound system via an optical lead for the sound. This will transfer the much higher quality sound to your system. If you have the connections in place then it will probably be just a case of making certain you have both the correct output settings for the Blue Ray sound and the correct input settings for the sound on your amp.

CHANGE CHANNEL TO AV/SCART ON A GOODMANS TVC 1400 WITHOUT THE REMOTE CONTROL , ONLY RUNS THROUGH 7 CHANNELS

Not familiar with this, but see if there is another button on front or top or behind a cover marked AV or source, if so then that will select the channel you want.

Russound ca4-kt1 no sound

Does the system have its own speakers? I understood that sound system required speakers to be attached. Check that you put the right model up.

Why? no sound from the speskers at all.

There are a few things that could cause no sound and although some are obvious I'll got through them all..

1) Sound is on Minimum

2) Sound is Muted

3) No Power to Subwoofer

4) Speakers connected Incorrectly or Faulty

5) No AUDIO IN connections to TV-IN or AUX-IN

6) Incorrect Input Source is Selected (See Below)

Switch our tv to souround sound

Surround sound will come from the speakers from your surround system. So if you have it connected through HDMI 1 select that option from the source button on the remote control. If you have it connected through Scart 1 then select AV1 from the source button. It also best to turn the volume from the TV to minimum so that the sound only comes from the surround speakers.

I have a Russound CAV6.6 Rnet controller. The controller will turn on, but I can get any sound out of the speakers. It used to work just fine. Now the lights come on, but no sound from the speakers. I took...

Have you changed any connections behind the CAV recently? This happened to an associate of mine once and it just turned out to be something simple. This may or may not be the situation in your case. Check to make sure your source audio cables are connected to the correct source number that you assigned in the programming (Ex. AM/FM Tuner = Source 1). Also make sure your audio cable is connected to Source 1 IN (and not the "OUT").

Narrow down the source of the problem:

Make sure the keypad you are using to test the CAV is not in "Mute" mode. Press the "Pause" button to engage/disengage from mute.

To further troubleshoot your issue if the above is not the case you want to use a device (such as an ipod tthat you are sure the audio output is working using a stereo mini to red and white rca cable) and plug into each source input (one at a time) behind the Cav then monitor that source# on the keypad to see if you hear the ipod on any of the sources. If you hear the ipod playing on some sources and not others it obviously means some of your source inputs are having problems and the unit needs to be shipped to Russound for repair.

Make sure the front of the Cav6.6 has the proper colored lights lit up. When no keypads are on the zone should show red, when a keypad is off the color should be green for that zone, if there is a short circuit with the speaker wire the CAV might be in protection mode and the color might show orange.

Hope this helps.

How can I take advantage of digital cable?

No digital sound comes from Digital Coax or Optical and in order to utilize a digital signal u need HDMI or Component although component wont be truly digital. Try running everything to the TV then the sound out of the TV into the sound system. If its a high def source like high def cable box then use the optical conection on the back of the aquos and plug than into your surround system. if ur system doesnt support Optical or digital coax then you need an updated surround system. If i misunderstood your question im sorry. If u live in CT though stop by Circuit city in North haven. either myself, Dave, or my associate Justin should be able to help you out. and dont worry we're not on commission or anything.
