The light inside the television might be broken that is why it doesn't work.

SOURCE: when i turn on the tv i only get a picture on 1/2

There is a high probability this is the tcon board, located at the back of the LCD controller.

I'll need the exact TV model number in order to be able to tell you what exactly the board number is.

It is not guaranteed - it may be the main board or, even worse, the LCD itself; not many people know, but the LCD dispay has quite some electronics literally inside it or glued to it in a totally unserviceable way.

If that electroncis burns out , the whole LCD goes to trash even if it's physically intact.

It's unfortunate, but not uncommon.

Still in your case replacing the tcon board is the first thing I'd try.

Ah, one more thing - sometims the cables that connect the tcon board to the LCD also burn and cause similar troubles. When replacing the tcon board that will become apparent.

Look at the power supply first it may be going out; look for burnt parts, bad capacitors, etc. Look for 5vdc, 12vdc, and 24dvc.

SOURCE: blinking light on 37" Dynex LCD

I had a similar problem with my Phillips 42 in. LCD HD TV.

Here's the problem. The Power Supply Board. I opened my TV up(warranty was up of course) and found several bad capacitors. Phillips and several other companies were sold capacitors that although were highly rated failed within 5 years because of a lack of preservatives. All sorts of electronic equipment is now being effected due to these defective capacitors.
1. Take it in and have it fixed
2. Open it up, check the board for faulty capacitors(bulged or leaking) Buy a new Power supply board and install it.
3. Remove PSB, remove faulty capacitors and replace with compatible new ones.

Hope this helps

How do I fix a television that has no audio nor picture when turned on without having to purchase another?

The only thing you can do is look for television repairers in Yellow Pages and take it in for service, or take to the shop where you purchased it.

You can try pressing the button on the Remote for 'Source', just to make sure you aren't on a black screen with no signal input?

Try leaving it out of the power overnight. Also, check all the cable connections.

Sony KV32FS120 Trinitron TV No picture or sound when power button on remote is turned off. Red light at front of TV blinks nine times per cycle.

Once your television blinks about 9 times then it means there is a problem somewhere most likely the lamp of the television. Another source of this problem is also a bad capacitor from either the main panel or the power panel.

If your remote turns off actually it is because there is nothing to operate on the television, so once your television starts the blinking light, the remote will not be able to operate the television, once you unplug the television and plug it back then press the power button, the remote will do the same.

Until the television is fixed is when the remote will work normally.

Take care and good luck

Red light on front, no audio, video, have unpluged and left unplugged for days , plug it back in and get the same thing

the red light is on because part of the power supply is still alive(usually +5v source), but there could be a problem after the ps that might be causing the tv to go into shut down. that might be why there is nothing happening when power is pressed.
