Hi Stephanie, my 98 LeSabre was having a similar issue. The "check engine" light was on for months before we figured it out. It would only run if the car was cold. In other words, if I drove it somewhere & then turned it off, when I went to start it again, it wouldn't start. I found that if I got a jump for the battery, that it would start. But that was not the issue at all. We also tried cleaning the engine sensors instead of replacing them because they were so pricey. Long story short, it was the fuel pump. My brother had to take out the exhaust pipes, then had to lower the gas tank to get to the fuel pump. It was awful. One thing I would recommend, if you end up trying this solution, make sure you change the fuel filter as well because it's so hard to get into there and it only ran about $10 for the filter. The pump was around $70 or $80. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: replaced ignition and steering wheel now car wont start -security light on

Hi......
On your Buick 94.
The problem is the ANTI THEFT SYSTEM..
If you have replaced the ignition switch.
If you are using a NEW KEY, the car won't start.
Because in the OLD KEY, is there a Resistence with a number of ohm's
The computer need the resistence to activate the the signals to operate the vehicle.
OK.. with the New Key and Old Key you can go to any Aloha Smith and they will remove the Chip from the Old Key to the New Key.
And the car must start and running.

But if you are using the Same Key that you have before the repair made.
I recomend to check the 2 Orange wires from the Ignition lock Cylinder to the steering column lower connectors.

Ok I hope this work for your problem.
Any moree info, I will glad to help you.
I'm a Mechanic and have all the repair information for all the cars.

Thank you for use fixya...

I have found the most common part failure issue with the ignition system is the crank sensor, also called by some the TDC sensor.

First check the air filter to make sure you didn't suck water into the filter.

Replaced ignition module now it won't run at all

After changing the ignition module, you may have broken the communication between all the components in the anti theft security system. This is common on GM antitheft systems. Engine died & wont start no spark ignition coil tested good

try your ignition module in the distributor much more likely. just install rebuilt distributor if that is the problem , if you just replace module the main distributor assem will **** out shortly after.
Make sure you check for broken timing belt also it is one of those two!
