Should I put a mirror behind my entertainment center?

I don't recommend putting a mirror behind your entertainmentcenter for two main reasons. The firstis that when you are watching tv, you don't want to be distracted by the mirrorbehind it. The other reason is that itis difficult to clean behind your television/dvd player/game consoles, so youdon't want a mirror back there displaying all of the dust behind there.

Dryer has 3 prongs wall has 4. new cord has 4 color coded connections. old one does not. how do I know where to put the 4 switches

3 wires -- Outside two wires (Line 1 and Line 2) Center (Nutral).
4 wires-- Green (ground) Red (Line 1) White (Nutral) Black (Line 2).

You have a terminal block on the back of the dryer that has only space for three wires. The Red and Black go on the out side two posts or screws (does not matter which is on the right or left). The White wire goes in the center. The forth and final wire is the Green which should go under a ground screw located near the terminal block. This screw is usually indicated by the ground symbol which is three horizontal lines that decrease in size as the go down. If there is a copper "bridge" from the center of the terminal block to the ground screw remove and discard.

Cigarette lighter in center console doesn't work and I can figure out why. Checked all the fuses. Any ideas? Thanks!

pull out socket and check for power and ground wire that goes to center should be the power wire and wire that goes to out side should be ground
if u have power and ground then replace socket
if u dont have power check fuses again look for broken wire
if u dont have ground look for bad wire

I am in the process of trying to hook up a 3 prong electrical cord to a 4 prong but dont know which colored cords go where? any advice?

Get an qualified person to do it. If you do not have any idea how to do it, you are better off having someone else do it. If you have a 3 prong receptacle, you need a 3 prong pigtail. And if you have a 4 prong receptacle, the dryer needs a 4 prong pigtail. The green is ground, white is neutral, red and black are both hot (L1 and L2). If you put a 4 prong pigtail on, remove the ground strap between the center post and the case. The green ground goes on the case, white neutral in the center, black or red to the left, what's left on the right. You can interchange the red and black but NOT the white or green. If you use a 3 prong pigtail, the center is the neutral (same as white on the 4 prong) and you will need the ground strap between the neutral (center) and the case. The wires do NOT cross over on a 3 prong pigtail.

Ground rod placement

If this is a Sub pannel that is fed from a main pannel then you don't need a ground rod for it, but you do need to run a ground wire in the cable that feeds it. So if it is fed by a 220 volt breaker in the main pannel it needs both hot wires, a neutral, and a ground wire in the cable.
Also when you get to the pannel do not attach the ground bonding jumper to the neutral bus in the sub pannel. each of the 4 wires will be seperated at the sub pannel.

I have a broken rca lead and dont want to pull the whole lead out of my car to fix it, i am putting some new ends on it but dont know how to tell which colours are earth

Depends which kind of RCA's you have.....Most likly you have sheilded where there is a center wire and then strands of wire wrapped around the outside of the insulation of the inner wire. That outer wire is the "Ground" the inner wire would be you right and left signals. Good luck.
